There is no shortage of WII's. Major retailers have a contract with Nintendo to create the illusion of a shortage by only offering limited quantities particularly on Sundays.

I have heard from 2 major retailers now that they will have the WII in stock on Dec 16th. One retailer has even guaranteed that they will have the WII in stock not only on that day, but all that week as well.

This illusion of a shortage is just hype to drum up sales and media coverage. People want what they cant have, so we offer them tiny appetizers wetting their mouths for the main course yet to come.

So I got a heads up that Gamestops were going to get shipments today around 11am .... so I called at least 20 different locations within 25 miles from me and EVERY SINGLE SPOT sold out at about 10:15am, lol. What a joke .... Walmart's even had them this morning. People really wait at the stores every day for a shipment .... you know these are just resellers, so I can't knock their hustle ... HOWEVER, the frustration on not being able to get this for my 5 year old son is starting to wear on me. Target has CONFIRMED they they will 100% have them on the 16th, but I refuse to wait outside in the cold all night to secure one. My search continues.

Depending upon where you are, you shouldn't have to wait outside all night, I hit my local BB at 6:30 Sunday morning(7th in line) and got a ticket at 7:30 then back home until they opened at 10. Things might get a little crazier closer to xmas but you "should" be able to get one on the 16th. Just dress like your going to the north pole and find a target that's a little out of the way for everyone.

I work at KMart and the next shipment of wii's is going to be on the sixth from what I heard from my manager most likely in the morning. However I have not gotton one yet since im usually at school in the mornings. I was wondering when the best time for me to get a wii was.

I can't do anything until about after 3 and I'm waaay to lazy to wait outside of a store at the early hours in the morning. Also, I want to try to get one before christmas.

Any positive advice would be accepted.

p.s. When if at all do the new Wii colors come out?

Hey Sam, do you have any idea what time the Wii's might be at that K-Mart. I'm in Annapolis and have been searchin everywhere with no success. Seems like everyplace runs out a couple minutes before I get there.

i've just bought it wii console

From what i've heard from my manager and seen from other shipments most stuff is shipped overnight and stocked in the morning so hopefully tomorow around opening. Im not 100% though.

december 17 is the next shipment i got one this past sunday at best buy the store opens at 10am i got there at 6:30 and i was number 10 in line they will only admit to having 18 at a time so i woul;d suggest getting there early by 7:00 there were over 50 people there about 9:15 the store gave us vouchers we had to come back that same day when the stor opened since it was only 19 degrees out and we have been there since 6:30

My bad, they did get the shipments but they cant sell them until the 16th. My friend who works there said he would hold one for me until then. Good look and sorry for kmart holding back their stock.

It's people like you that make them so limited...take your over priced goods somewhere else. It's sad that some people are so desprate they would actually pay that.

get to know your local game stop and walmart sales people.....I know ours here in town will call you when they have a truck coming or when fed ex runs if you are tight with them.....

One of my freinds works for the home shopping network and they told me they will be selling the Wii's at 7am on Dec 14th ! Make sure U are watching and call in quick to get one !!!

There really needs to be something done about flipping systems. Ebay is the worst- some 18,000 Wii auctions a day, roughly 1/2 of them ending each day. 9,000 wii's per day being REsold usually at a minimum of $480, and maxing around $600.

9,000 systems. A Day.

If eBay would restrict new console sales, there would actually be some in stores for people to buy. In fact, I'd wager there would be plenty in stores to buy.
