Will a wii bought in the uk work the same when used in the united states? (I'm considering buying from overseas )

It wont be able to play US games... and I dont think you want to import European games, which are more expensive anyways.

Anyone have any information about Wal-Mart getting Wiis on Sunday? My friend got his last week walking in a 7am when they still have 9 left. Wal-marts site says the store opens at 10pm, but its really 7am.

Hi, i'm new to this thread.... came upon it cause i'm in a struggle to buy a Wii. I have to buy 2 Wiis b4 the end of Xmas... which i have a feeling its going to be impossible. I've visited all the best buy futureshop EB and Walmarts in my area... lets jsut say im in outter surrounding of toronto. But i can't seem to find any...is there any chance of me being able to buy a Wii tmr? like without the fuss of setting up a tent in -10 degree C outside tonite? T_T

UK has loads of hype about no stocks with e-bay selling upto £300 (list |£179) but although I did pre-order and was let down I got hold of one relatively easily through a wii instock service who send out e-mails when stock is spotted. Most suppliers are bundling so you have to buy 3-5 games but on the whole they seem to be reasonable titles although not my first choice. I guess in the last week I could have bought 3 or 4 units if I wanted. The next panic then seemed to be spare controllers with e-bayers selling at upto double the price but I again got one through the amazon at about 25% more than list, I could have gone direct I realised afterwards and saved £10 but could not be bothered as I am too busy.

I do think that in the UK there is a lot of hype and although stores don't have them you can get the consoles if you stick it out and check early morning when sites have updated their sites.

Sounds worse elsewhere or is it hype as well?

I got one this morning at Besy BUY! I got there at 6:00 am and was # 14 in line. A Manager told me they had 180 this morning.

I don't blame anyone for trying to sell a Wii for a high price. That's the beauty of socialism. There's no law against selling a Wii at a whatever price you want. Christmas wasn't the only time to buy a Wii. You could have easily have bought one from January until Thanksgiving.

i live in Canada and it took me about 3 weeks to find one, i finally got one last week from Zellers and have never been so happy! lol only problem is i cant play the wii or SMG till christmas!
