Ok let me tell you whats up. Nintendo World gets 100 every day. to get it, you must arrive by 430am.
My story: I got there around 3:30am. by 4:30am it was over. At 7:30am the guy started handing out tickets and stoped around the people that got there at 430. That was what this dude in front of me told me because he bought the other guy that was standing there for 100 a spot and he said he got there a little pass 4:30am and he was 10 people short. They open the doors at 8:00, letting in 7 - 10 people at a time.
You can buy 1 nunchuck, 1 wiimote, 1 classic controller as a limit.
I also got some other stuff there. But those are the only limits given on accessories.
im tired so if a lot of that didn't make sense. I understand. Peace.
If you have any questions let me know.
Good Luck!!

At the local Best Buy, they had 20 units today. The first person arrived at 6pm Thursday night, the 20th person at 930. I was there since 6:45pm. We had a sign up list to organize our spots and got our tickets just a bit after 8am Friday. Many people were turned away cause there were no wii's left. It was -4 outside with windchill of -14.
For those who missed out, Costco and Walmart will have some today. Walmart at 11am first come first serve.
So long story short - great experience, met many interesting people - shared my Christian Faith with some people ... and got a wii.
Unfortunately, they didn't get any Nunchucks. Good luck everyone, just over 2 weeks till Christmas.

I'm getting worn out searching for the Wii.... I hope my Target has them on Sunday. I might just camp out Saturday night and just hope for the best...if that fails then the 17th at Best Buy I suppose.
Edit:
Has anyone else heard of Target having Wiis on Sunday the 10th?
Thank you!

Donno about the rest of the nation, but from what I heard here in NYC that Target won't get them this Sunday.
Again, I don't know for sure, that's just what a coworker who's wife works at Target said.

I have never seen any kind of video game system in a duty free shop, so I'm guessing no.

camel beast, i think you're out of luck man. we're all searching for a wii, but they seem to come out on specific days and they are not randomly trickling in like the ps3's. the best bet is to get your dad to head out to NYC and try nintendo world. seems like they have a regular shipment of over 100 wii's every day (as long as you line up early). it's a bit of a drive, but if you're desperate, that might be your only choice. good luck.

So I'm curious, you said you got there at 645pm...but isn't the store still open during that time? Did you have to wait in line outside even though the store was open? Or did the employees move you guys outside after store closing? It seems that 2 or 3am is no longer early enough to get one. Everyone is standing in line 12-14 hours earlier now!!!

That all depends on where you're from. We get to the stores (that open at 8am) no earlier than 6am, and we have no problem getting systems.

I went to Best Buy Richmond Hill (Toronto) at 5AM this morning, and all of the Wiis were already accounted for. They said they'd been accounted for since 7PM, LAST NIGHT. Which means I'd have to camp out for 14 hours in order to get a Wii. Good job, Nintendo.
I'm really frustrated now.

So does anyone know about Target, Circuit City, or Toys R Us on Sunday?
It seems like at this point, it is all just rumors....

http://ps3seeker.com/wii/#gmap seems to be saying that they are supposed to have them on Sunday, but I'm going to call some stores to see if an employee can verify this...
I will say that I never thought that getting my hands on one of these things would be so damn difficult. And here I thought that I was saving myself trouble by ignoring the PS3 and sticking with Nintendo, heh...

I'm getting the feeling that we Canadians are getting shafted on stock numbers. It's been about 2 weeks without any shipments in Waterloo, and the Future Shop here had 56 Wii's on launch day.

I work at Best Buy and our Nintendo rep came in today. She told me that every major retailer (Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc..) should be getting at least one shipment a week from now on. Before I left work today I checked our inventory system and it showed that we had 25 on order. This is probably for this Sunday's ad. So just to give everyone a heads up. Keep an eye out at Best Buy stores for the Wii this coming week.

I couldn't agree more.
Canada gets only a small percent of what the US gets (of course because of the lower population), but it makes it incredibly hard to get one. Even if it IS a manufacturing problem (as Nintendo says it is), I think it's foolish for retailers to only be recieving ~10, every week or two. No one wins, Nintendo, nor the buyers.
I guess my only option is to go camp out at Best Buy, Thursday at 4PM...the AFTERNOON before they come in. And if that's not enough, then I give up. I'll wait until January.
But I do have the same question as ilovetoeatcereal. If I show up to "camp out" before the store closes, what do I do? Wait outside? Go inside, and talk to a manager, and see what's going on? I guess it would be best to confirm with the manager that you are indeed waiting for the Wii, so he'd know to put you at the top of the list...speaking of which, should I make a list?
