Still on the Search for Wii?

Just scoped out my local Best Buy and Gamestop. Best Buy had a line that stretched across the entire plaza of stores. Gamestop had about 8 people camping out. Screw all of this, I can wait for my Wii. I still have a few weeks till Xmas.

This was all at Midnight mind you.


EDIT: As a response to the last poster, Yes that is very true. I am not going near any store today, even if they might have a Wii. I am waiting.

so i am going to get a wii at 5 am this morning. do think there will be a line outside of gamstop?

My plan:
leave early early for BB, if line isnt too bad, get in.
if it is, I'll still have plenty of time to go check out my local eb games/game stops.

So i just got home, had to run to the super wal mart near me to grab some milk, and then ran to the bank and gas station. But on my way i stopped near the eb games (Other side of the wal mart parking lot) there were 2 people outside in lawn chairs with blankets over them. So im thinking ok cool i should have a fighting chance if i get there at 4:30 this morning. So i drive to best buy just for the hell of it to see whats going on. The line doesnt look long from what i can see when i first pull in. I keep driving...the line keeps going...i keep driving some more, the line keeps going some more. The line had to have had at least 700 people in it. Although i doubt all of them were there for the wii. Probably just for the entire store sale itself.

Just a heads up. Nobody outside of the gamecrazy's, circuit city's, wal marts, targets, or k-marts here in north las vegas. well north west actually.

Time to hit the sack, gotta be up in like 5 hours haha.

in in nebraska. all i have is a half hour from where i live. they have a walmart, target, shopko, and gamestop. i know gamestop will have some but i hope it isn't the bundle packages for like 500$. all i want is the system. i already have Zelda and Excite Truck plus 2 remotes.

i'm hoping that if gamestop has a line, at least i'll be there for target or walmart and theres a chance. this is getting ridiculous though.

anybody know if what kind of chance i have of getting a wii this morning if i get outside a gamestop by 6am? it's a town of about 20,000 in nebraska. shit, i wonder if i should go earlier than that...

Now that I read my posts, I question why Im doing this.
But the truth is, it really isnt that crazy considering I've been trying to get one awhile now.

And it's oh-so annoying hearing the same answer of rejection. over and over. haha

my ride's expecting me to call her up at 5:15. i guess i will hope for the best. How many people can there actually be waiting outside? it's not like it's the launch day. I've never been black fridaying before. My gamestop had some on monday morning at like 10 am and then i called back 3 hours later and they were gone. i went everywhere looking for one, and i'm not paying a load of money for one either. what to do...i guess hope for the best.

Its a monster.


If youre going to GS/EB games, I wouldnt worry too much.
Anywhere else, walmart, best buy, target....prepare to beat some people down

if i get one this morning, i think i will finally feel complete. The wii has taken over my thoughts for like the last two weeks. if i can't find one this morning, i might just lose it. anyone else feel the same? why do they make it so damn hard to com across? i don't remember that ever happening back in the day of the good ol systems. it must be the media and the internet that does it...

nintendo is cleeaning up this holiday season. good for them though. sorry, but screw M$soft and Sony. PS3 is overpriced compared to what that technology REALLY is.

i went to Norfolk, NE on monday and then all over Iowa on tuesday and wednesday. everywhere, same story. i really thought that they would sell all their first day shipments and then during this week you could walk into the store and find one. Not the case what so ever. So i guess this morning is my last chance (as far as getting one RIGHT NOW goes). I just hope an hour ahead is good enough otherwise it's target or walmart for me. Man, i should call my 24 hour walmart now that i think about it...

Black Friday!!!! sucked if you wanted a Wii in Columbia, MO.

When they opened:

Target = 0
Toysrus = 0
Circuit City = 0
Best Buy = 10-15
GameCrazy = 0
EB = Less than 10

F****** super duper lame. Nintendo may have put out a decent product, but their release strategy and awareness has been atrocious. How do you not stock all of the major retailers on the biggest spending day of the year? Brilliant Nintendo. Can people see why Sony has dominated for the last 12 years?
