Still on the Search for Wii?

does anyone know if new component cables come when stores sell their wii's? or is it random since it's only third part cables in stores?

im going 3 hours earlier, since on black friday 2 weeks ago at my eb there were only 7 people and i was 5th in line, to bad there was only 3 wii's. ( i went 30 mins earlier). So really 3 hours earlier is almost guaranteed

Hey all, I have a predicament. At school the only store nearby is a walmart and I've been planning to get there around 2 and camp out. But the wrench that just got throw into the works is that it is a 24 hour walmart and I called and they don't know when the shipment is actually coming in. wiiseeker says they're getting a shipment the 17th, and now I don't know what to do. Should i just sit in the parking lot and wait?

I just went to target and talked to the electronics people and they confirmed that they would have wii's tommorow morning and that they would be passing out tickets at 7 and opening at 8, also they do allow camping but after the store closes. I think I will go about 4a.m. or 3, not sure yet. I need 2 so I am dragging my husband with me.

Not exactly a predicament...but, definitely don't just camp out in the parking lot I wouldn't think...at least I wouldn't. It all really just depends on how much you want the Wii or not, if it's worth camping out that long, so be it, if not, then...just wait I guess.

ahhhhh so its 11 pm... and i was planning on going at like 1 to wait outside target... and at like 5 pm there were like 8 people outside best buy but im not sure if theywere just in a line to talk or something haha... so wish me luck haha... i hope i dont leave too early.

Yeah... reports are coming in. There are more people camping out tonight than for the initial launch! Probably because everyone assumed that there would be plenty of units available, and now everyone KNOWS that there won't be.

I'm planning on camping out tonight. This is the first time I've ever done this before. I live in a pretty big town, and the shopping center has Target, Bestbuy and Gamestop all together in there. I plan on going to Bestbuy....since a lot of y'all have experience with this, what would be a good time to actually go?
Thanks in advance! My six year old really wants this for Christmas, it's the only thing he wants, well a couple of games, lol.

Do you know the unit count they're getting in? Regardless, 5 hours GUARANTEES you one no hands down, but 3 hrs. would also work I would think...I would definitely say at least 3 hrs.

I hope your 6 yr. old (and yourself) have a blast w/ the gr8est console to date! Good luck to you.

Thanks. No, I have no idea. Rumour is 40 minimum. The woman at BestBuy that I talked to a couple days ago said they had no idea, just that they would go on sale on Sunday. She told me to get the early edition of the Sunday paper and if it was in the ad then they would have them on sale. Target told me the same thing. But since BestBuy was more forthcoming and helpful, they'll get my business if I get there early enough, heh. Thanks for the info. Drinking a ton of coffee right now to be able to do this, lol. And if I manage to get one, we will have tons of fun with it!!! It looks sooo cool!

(Everyone told me there would be no demand for Wii!.. HA! I started camping 5 hours before the the next guy in line. Better to get home in the morning tired and cranky with a Wii in your hand than with no Wii. Better safe than sorry.)

I just drove past my Target, and there were precisely 14 in line. 22 or 23 in line at Best Buy. This was 11:10, in the rain, and it's about 45 degrees.

Note: it looked to be all college kids, despite the fact that the undergrads are already out on break. Any parents who cruise in at 7:45 with the assumption that it's going to be light traffic in a college town are going to be sorely disappointed.

heh, thanks, I'm 36 with three kids. But I just refuse to grow up! The PS2 in the house belongs to me...I remember when we got our first Atari, it was great! I've never lost my love for games. There's nothing better than shooting zombies to kill stress, lol. Wish me luck, my daughter and I are going soon....
