My local Virginia stores this morning:

Best Buy had 20
Target had 18 (said supposed to have received double that but rest didn't show up - expect may get more in next few days) - Manager did know he also received Wiimotes (didn't know if he has any Nunchucks - waiting until open)
ToysRUs had 14 (confirmed did receive shipment of Nunchucks)
Circuit City had 12

People still waiting outside Gamestop/EBgames

Nothing at Walmart

how can they build all this hype, saying theyre holding units for like two weeks, jsut to have numbers like 11, 18, 24, 6, its rediculous. I woke up at 3 and looked around, and settled on a target that didnt have a number on their door, jsut to find out 4 hours later that they were 14 wiis short of me getting one. not cool

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! this sucks...i took the bus to our local target, passing an eb games without any line, only to find me #3x in line .. they only had 15. so i met some nice parents that gimme a ride back to the ebagmes. and guess what? they posted (i coulda read it last night i guess!) that they only have 3 wiis. and now the kicker: there were 3 ppl there, 2 stayed there all night, one guy came there like around 6.30. meaning, if i woulda just got off the bus before target and camped out ebgames i had a wii ... shit.

I was at Target by 5 this morning and was 34th in line. They got 15. 15! I'm starting to doubt getting one by Christmas is gonna be possible. Does anyone know about the Nintendo store in NYC? I read somewhere that they get substancial shipments every day. If it comes down to it I'll pack my shiv and spend a night in the city.

yeah it got posted in this thread a couple of times before: the nintendo world store (or whatever) in nyc gets like 100-150 each day. be there around 2am to be safe.

Question - If I want to go to CC this morning and buy something other than the Wii console, Do I need to stand in the line?

Or can I just show up at 10 and walk right in?

At Target (which in fact did have nunchucks so I didn't have to go back to Toys R Us), the people behind me were the last to get a ticket and they got there about 3:30am

The Best Buy is right next to Target - they only had about 10 people standing there at 5:30am when Target gave out their tickets (Target had about 45 people in line). The Target line made a mad dash to Best Buy when Target gave out the tickets - and the first 10 that made it to the Best Buy line rounded out the 20 there. So people at Best Buy had to have been there before 5:30am to get one.

I'd say at Toys R Us on their 14 the people getting them were there about 4:30am.

Finally Circuit City was the worst - there were almost 12 people (all the Wii's they had) there when I got in line at Target at 3am (compared to only 4 people in line at Best Buy at 3am - which ironically had the most).

Congratulations to cbl1 and wii! Patience and determination paid off. Wii, once you regain feeling in your extremities, you'll forget all about the freezing cold you had to endure and just bask in the joy of wii-ownership.

Hey Wii,
I got to best buy @ 4:00 pm...I was 5th in line. Wii, Were u in the tent at Target? I took a couple walks back n forth...the door at the mall was open all nite. On my way back from the ladies room there was a kid standing in front of EB and he asked if they had any. I told him it can't hurt to wait. he ended gettin his n I told a few others they all got a ticket. so it was a great nite and well worth every minute. I am going to be the BESTEST Mom in the world come christmas morning, and he will be be a happy lil' guy.

Oh yeah I went over to target ealier in the nite and got the extra nunchuck setup...but best did have a few at the check out.

Crap. I got up at 5 and went to two Gamestops, and Ebgames, and a Target. One Gamestopt got 9 and 9 people were already camping. The other Gamestop already had 8 people waiting for 8 units. EBgames had 6 people waiting for 6 of them. Target had at least 50 people outside...
