She started crying and hugging him, and telling him that her grandson is gonna be so happy this christmas. It was hard to watch. Christmas brings the best out of some people.

Yay was able to get Wii after a long night of camping.
I originally was thinking of going few hours early, then it changed to around midnight then finally settled on going a little after dinner. So my wife and I went to Best Buys at a little past 9 and got there before 9:30. No one was lined up so I went inside to talk to the manager about their policy about camping and where to do so.
So we pulled out the chairs and supplies and sat down in preparation for the long cold night (Well not that cold but cold enough, Low 40s with some wind). Interesting enough not a whole lot of people showed up for a while. They just trickled in slowly. By about 3 AM there was only maybe 10-12 people in line. It was nice since most people chatted and got along with each other. After that more people showed up and there was a homeless person that talked to a few people but was mostly talking to himself in front of the line, which was weird.
At around 6:30ish, we found out that that Best Buys had 24 units in stock and the line I think had around 40-50 people in line. When distribution of the tickets came at 7, apparently there was some line cutters cause 2 people got kicked out and another who lost his ticket cause he wasn't 'there' enough during the night (By the manager).
When all was said and done, we met some cool people and I am glad this is over. It was cool to be first in line.
We managed to get 2 extra wii remotes and 1 nunchuk.
Since it was so early still, we figured try going to EBgames store to try and get another nunchuk. The one around the corner opened at 10 but only had 6 units (Did not want to wait an hour for it to open). We went to a further one that opened earlier, 9. They had 18 units but the nunchuks sold out so no luck. Oh well gotta find another nunchuk somewhere one day.

Thanks...
Thanks to all of you who helped me when I questioned how early to leave. My daughter and I decided to leave a little before 1 a.m. We got to Best Buy and there were already 18 people. The last person in line said they were only getting 18, told to them by the manager. So we decided to go back to our side of town and sit at the Game Stop. We were 7th in line. We sat there for 8 hours and met some real nice people. Around 5 more people started to show up. At 9:30 the manager came and told us to line up....they had 6 units. We didn't manage to get one, I was really upset. But I was dealing with it, until, as I was starting the car I looked up and saw two little boys, around 11 and 6 or so and their dad. The looks on those kids faces killed me. They didn't look like they had a pot to piss in and that maybe they'd been saving for it and then their world turned to crap. I felt sooo bad for those two. My six year old really wants one, but he's okay just as long as Santa leaves him a letter (we had a talk, lol). But those kids looked like their world was shattered. My daughter and I felt so damn bad for them. If I had gotten one I would have let them have it, that's how devastated they looked. Anyway, we sat out there for 8 hours for nothing, but I'll just get him an acoustic guitar until they're more readily available and maybe by January around his birthday, it will be an added bonus for him. Thanks again for all your help! And congratulations to all of those who managed to get theirs!!! Merry Christmas!!

After searching for weeks trying to get a Wii I finally got one. I've been calling stores, checking websites, this forum, etc. After confirming BB will have some on Sunday (Dec. 17) I camped out midnight at my local BB. There were 11 ppl there already and since their ad said they guaranteed 15 units per store I was confident I would get one. (The rumored 40 units per store was definitely not true as most stores only received 20-24).
After waiting for 7 hours they handed out the Wii tickets an hour before opening and I got ticket #8. The head count of ppl in line was deceiving because some were there just to give company for the camp out (father/son, grandma/grandkids & even whole families). There were a lot of happy campers behind the line who gambled and stayed on even if they were 30+ in line.
Things got a little crazy when they let us in as they only had a few nunchucks and some games available (no Wiimotes!). I managed to snag the last nunchuck. Luckily, CC was only 5 doors down and they had plenty of controllers (I heard they only had 9 Wii's for that day and there were 40+ ppl waiting). Eventually, I got all the accessories I needed. My new time waster...err...I mean game system is now sitting under the Christmas tree waiting to be opened. I'm sure we'll have a blast on the 24th.
For those who's still searching for a Wii...all I can say is just keep trying. It takes a bit of luck too but when you get it...it's well worth it. Merry Christmas!!

Kids xmas gift...i wouldn't even think to sell it on ebay. That would be just down right mean...there was a woman w/2 kids standing inline and there was a sign stating that the store only had 24. The kids were just hoping and waiting to get it, and got turned away...it was SAD.

Well you still have to wait 2-3 weeks till the order comes in. I think its only in toronto/Ontario. If you live there, tell me.

URl to find local store delivery schedules
Everyone keeps talking about a web site called someting like 'wiifinder.com' that you are supposed to go to and it will show you delivery schedules for stores in your local area. And it is supposed to be free. Now, i went to wiifinder.com and there is a web site but it costs 6.50. Does anyone know if a site exists? Right now I call about 8 stores daily asking if they have any shipments in.
