I went to EB Games at 8:00 AM and asked if they knew if they were receiving any today, they said They don't know it's highly doubtful but its a maybe. I left, Met up with my friend who was gonna buy a game 2 hours later. So I'm back at the store and I ask and they said maybe and they already had a Waiting list that he didn't tell me about before. I was the 6th person on this list. I waited at the store for about 1 or 2 hours and I see the UPS man come in. They received shipments of 5 Nintendo Wii's and I was sixth on the waiting list. I was SOO close. That really ruined my day.

Im curious, what retailer did you order from? I placed an order on the 22nd with TRU online and the damn order status has not changed. Even called their 800# and the woman said possibly wednesday.

i missed today at eb/gamestop, so does anyone know anything about shipments tomorrow??

You should contact the Gamestop customer service people at Gamestop and tell them your story (Contact Us , Store Issues). Rather than applaud this deviant and perhaps illegal behavior as "capitalism", you should make them aware of what might be going on there. Is it acceptable and "understandable" to you because you were lucky enough to get your Wii? How would you feel if the Gamestop guys decided not to give you one? Guess what genome.....you're now part of the problem!

Is there any possibilty of the stores getting returns today and reselling them in morning tomorrow? Or do they put them back on the shelves the day they come back?

i just want a wii and i dont want to over buy and settle on getting one on ebay for like twice the price....i think ill just wait until they come back in the stores

I finally got a Wii today. I waited in line on the 17th to get one, and the guy said another shipment was going to come in this week. I went to Target every morning when they opened and nothing ever came in. I gave up on them and started looking into EBgames. I went to there today and asked if a shipment was coming in, and the guy said a shipment was coming in today or tomorrow. I went back at 1pm and saw the UPS guy about 10 stores down, so I thought I was too late. I went up to the same guy and asked if they came in. He said that they have one, but I have to wait in line and ask the cashier for it. If someone asks for it before I do that's already in line, they would have to sell it to that person. Well, it was a good thing that he didn't say it that loud. After waiting in line for a while, I think he felt bad for me so he told the guy behind the counter that I would get the last Wii. A couple of guys in front of me asked if that was the last one and wanted to buy one. They never thought to ask I guess. I know employees probably get asked hundreds of times, but the Wii was in the back room. Therefore, if you don't ask for it, you will not know if they have one or not. I see tons of people just look on the shelves and leave assuming they don't have any. I noticed Target does the same thing with Wiis and DS lites. They keep them behind the counter.

Wow, just wow. I spent 4 hours looking for a wii in the area i live in: bay area. It really shot me down.. no luck.. i even tracked the UPS truck and it was in the mall when i went in. I asked the people who worked there, and they either, didnt have any or they lied perfectly. Another gamestop FROM THE SAME MALL (gamestop and EBgames, serramonte) had wiis but just sold out 5 minutes ago. Just my luck. If one store got it, the other must have it right? god. And this wasnt it... i dragged myself home without a good night sleep and just spent time with cousins. Luckily, a friend was lineing up in the hillsdale mall EBgame and was 22nd in line. I got my hopes as high as they ever been this winter break. I was lucky, but not lucky enough. It turned out the 21st person in line bought the last wii . hahhaha what a day. Looks like i wont be touching a wii until 2007. even if i get one, i have SCHOOL, the reason i am so frantic about getting the wii ASAP is because i want to actually play my late late christmas present when i have no homework. Once school starts.. haha forget it.

im still looking for one. gamestop says they will have no idea when they are getting the Wii's UNTIL THEY ARIVE. thats BS if you ask me. i really wanted a Wii this holiday season.

The employees that were calling their friends or reserving it for them... we cant really blame them.. because if we knew a Gamestore employee we would probably do the same.

FINALLY got a Wii at EbGames today at 11am. Thanks for the tip. Turns out that in my area EBGames and Gamestop got a shipment around 11 to noon. Funny thing was that there were about 10 people in there and I just casually walked in and asked one of the workers quietly if they had a Wii back there...he said "Yeah man you want it?" HELL YEAH. hahaha And the best part was that we hid it in bag so that no one in the store knew I was purchasing the last Wii. It felt great when a soccer mom asked one of them if there were any Wii and I thought "yeah there is one...in my bag." haha sucka.
Anyway, thanks for the help in finding one. Hope you'all don't have to wait too long in the cold...maybe you'll get lucky and casually walk in and find one...then maybe again you can't all be me. Peace.

waoh, Stealthy! where was this?

It was in Illinois. Small suburbian town. I just got lucky today. The first time I tried to get a Wii I stood in the cold on Black Friday for 2 hours. There were 3 Wii's available and I was number 4. The next time was December 21st, there were 19 available, we were number 20. This time I just strolled in and picked one up with no lines...no cold weather...no hassle. It was my time I guess. My time...Dont worry, you all will get your chance one of these days.

I feel bad for you guys it really sucks having to do all this just to get a wii I camped out because i knew this would happen let this be a lesson to you if you can camp out do it!
