I'm gonna stand in/out side EBGames all day tommorow. Hopefully they'll get a decent shipment in while I'm there. Anyways I might get lucky and get one as soon as I get there.
All I hope is that I get one before school starts again, early Feb.

During all of my calling, it seems as if all these places honestly have no clue when they are getting these things in. It seems that they are getting them mid-day. Even from all the stories I've read of people getting them, it appears as if noon is when the shipments come in.

I think I'm gonna do some UPS Stalking tomorrow too.
I think stores are open at their usual times now. I'm not sure if the Holiday hours extend after the 26th. I could be wrong though.

Ok Ok, I have a question. I am a little confused on which is a better choice to do. Heres a example/situation:
you walk into EBgame/Gamestop/ watever gamestore, you see lots of people, 10-15. There is a Long line to the cashier and it's about 12:30pm. Theres employees walking in and out from the back.
two choices,
1. Catch one of the employees walking and talking and ask them if they have wii.
2. Stand in line and wait until you can ask the CASHIER instead of a normal employee if they have wii.
Heres what i think, i think that theres a higher chance scoring one if you ask the cashier, because they would probably stash them behind the counter right? If you ask a normal employee, will they reach into the counter and grab you one while showing everyone else. Or go in the back and giving you a wii while everyone stares at you in line?
From what you guys(ones who luckily got one) are saying, the people who work there prefer to keep it down low, so if you catch the cashier at the right moment, maybe they will give you one? And then you can safely walk out the door with a huge grin on your face.
Today i saw a Wii behind the counter.. and i asked them if they had any, they said no, but i pointed the wii out, and they said it was a display box
EDIT: Wel i dunno about other areas but Bay area gamestop get their shipment probably around 12-2.
EDIT EDIT: today they got shipment in at 1, i arrived at 1:15 and they were gone. It would probably be safe to get in line at 12:50or 12:55 and hope and wish.. if they say no, they get at the back of the line and try again.

If I had the money to buy the Wii, I would have camped out at Walmart in my town when it was released, but considering I camped out for 33 hours for the ps3, and by the end of I felt like people were gonna bring me a sandwich cuz I looked like a bum --- maybe that wouldn't have been such a good idea.

I'm not really sure what I would do.
I would probably wait for the cashier (maybe not if there was a line of 12 people...of course I'm not sure if 12 people could fit into my EBGames.
Anyway, I would probably ask anyone I can find.

Today I walked into Gamestop and asked a salesman if they had any nunchucks. He pointed behind the counter and they had aprox 20 of them. I bought two of them. Now I need one more Wiimote. I guess I'll check tomorrow.

Does anyone know about the next shipments in the Bay Area, specifically the east bay? Wii Seeker says December 31st, but after reading some of these posts it looks like I can't rely on that. Shipments comming in randomly mid-day? That's terrible!

I live in the middle. They should have had both. I put Wiiplay on reserve, so I'll have to wait till the 15th to get another controller. I'll bet by then it will be pretty common to get Wii's also at most merchants.

I'm impressed genome, you know how to use a dictionary and seem to have at least some knowledge of spelling. Perhaps you are a little more enlightened than I had given you credit for. Your mastery of sarcasm however, leaves much to be desired. There is nothing sarcastic about your description of what happened at the Gamestop and you still believe that the employees' actions were "understandable". I know its hard, but think about it for a moment......they were wrong and now you are wrong for not recognizing it and calling them out for what they did. If it were me, I would do the right thing and contact corporate to give them a heads-up. I'm sure that "deceiving the customer" is not in the Gamestop employee manual and that the higher-ups would appreciate knowing. You posted your story with good intentions as a warning to others, which I think is great. But why not give a little extra and try to help out some people who haven't been quite as lucky as you and instead were lied to by those same employees squirreling away Wiis in the store room?

I would wait for the cashier. I know it sucks to have to wait in line for nothing, but eb/gamestop usually don't have that long of lines. If you ask the cashier (hopefully he knows), he would have to sell it to you at that point. You might find yourself in a situation where you can't buy it until you ask the cashier (like me). Also, I wouldn't go to eb/gamestop in the morning. Your best bet is to wait until UPS comes. At my store it is 12:30 and 5pm. If you can make it at these times, you will only have to wait a few minutes to get your answers. The guys at ebgames are really good about giving the times of shipments. I guess you should ask when the shipments come in everyday. instead of if they are getting a shipment today.

There is a toyrus in my city that I feel uncomfortable asking for the Wii or DS Lite. The guy, I'm assuming the electronics manager, is extremely short. When I ask for these items, he just says "no." Then, when I ask if they are getting anymore in, he says "I have no Idea." He gives me this irritated look and usually cuts me off before asking my questions. I know he gets these questions hundreds of times a day, but it is a part of his job to field questions. It almost makes me feel like he is doing me a favor by letting me spend a few hundred dollars in his store. I'm thinking about confronting him about it in the store or going to his manager. Every other store I go to I never have any problems. Anybody else experiencing similar situations.
