You're also retarded, you ****ing retard. There is no actual evidence it's just people coming up with theories. In all honesty, here's my theory. I think with their next system, they're going to combine the traditional controller with motion sensing (i.e. SixAxis, Dual Shock 3), along with rumble of course. And yes it will be wireless, as it no longer uses double A batteries, but has a lithium rechargable inside that you can charge either with the system or via computer. As for the name itself, that's a whole other story as they come up with the most random names possible for a system.

i think ninty will do what they did with the ds and make a wii lite type console.seriously this thing is selling out like crazzy wont fix something that isnt broken.its make money hand over fist,so i think there will be a revision like the DS had and thats it.

The handheld market is a whole different ball game compared to consoles.

With handhelds Nintendo has always been the dominate power, they have had very little competition if any at all. The PSP is the first one to really give Nitnendo a run for it's money and they are still outselling that 2 to 1.

With handhelds updates are accepted because the market doesn't make huge leaps and bounds in the form of technology. It's always pretty slow comming to handhelds and the consumers are fine with it updating as they see fit. Even then with handhelds the last gen systems have a long shelf life compared to consoles people keep buying games for Advance after how many years it's just now comming to an end.

With consoles this is rarely seen "apart from the PS2" when a new gen system comes out the old gen is normally abandoned in 6-12 months completely. Add on's or updates to systems have never worked in the past, See: Sega cd Sega 32X, N64 DD ect. ect. They have tryed such things and it never blows over well. People will not spend money on consoles for something only slightly different.

Granted they might come out with the different color Wii's or have new models with more memory or something, but as for a basic update and being called a new gen system it will not happen. They always have to make a big splash with consoles for them to sell. The fact that they change it up every 5 to 6 years is what keeps people comming back to video game consoles.

I want nintendo to make more m games or gun games for the Wii cause thats all I like not these *#%# disney games I want call of duty 4 for the Wii and other wwII games that the Wii dosent have it is not right.

I've not read all of the thread .. .. .. I got bogged down reading the DVD HDDVD BluRay stuff on page 8 (interesting opinions!) .. .. .. .. but my thoughts are these.

1. Nintendo doesn't care for cutting edge technology. From the NES and the GB to the DS to the Wii (and all of their systems in between) they have always used existing technology but added their own twist to it. All of this talk of new standards of optical technology are therefore pointless as the chances are Nintendo will use a tried and tested stable medium for their software as they always have done in the past.

2. Whatever their next system is the "hardcore" will mock it for not being advanced technologically enough.

3. Personally I'd like to see them do away with an optical drive altogether and only use cartridges as they are more durable. You only need to look at the macbook air to see how far flash memory has evolved to realise just how small a cartridge based flash memory cosole could be.

4. Wiiware could be the testbed for all future Nintendo releases. Once they've got the system perfected there is really no need for retail games apart from those people who don't have broadband. Maybe their next console will come in two varieties - retail games and DL games?

5. History shows that Nintendo tend to take a path that most don't expect or incorporate features that we don't realise that we want .. .. .. then make us want them. Who can really predict what their next console will be like?

my thing is this though.wii is selling out still 2 + years later..when will this stop?if it continues for 2 more years, why would you release another console a year after that.you wouldnt.you would have possibly the most popular and best selling console of all time.nintendo would not make another console.they would just continue to rake in the cash.

2. Better 3rd party support.
3.Better internal memory.
4. Be smaller.
5. Similar controls.

Same thing could be said about Sony, and probably the same thing would happen, continue to sell the Wii for another 2+ years atleast untill the sales of Wii2 hit a level you are compfortable with.

If anything having 2 consoles on the market selling well would be great. at worst you have one selling well and one taking off. The only thing keeping Sony Gaming devision afloat is the fact the PS2 is still selling so well.

i think sony and ninty are different though.sony released to compete with xbox360 (even released a year sooner then they wanted to).i dont see the point of releasing another console when yours is doing so well,you would only be competing with yourself.unless ninty made a console that was hardware wise up to snuff with say ps4 and xbox 3,then i could understand but there wouldnt be a point to release another console and pay for r&d etc etc for something that would only be on the level as say a ps3 or 360 is now.just like the DS has no competition neither does the wii for the category it is in.

i understand what your saying.the ps2 revenue has been keeping sony afloat while the ps3 gets settled,but i just cant see nintendo in a couple more years making an entire NEW console to compete nobody but itself unless its going against ps4.i just see a revision like the ds lite and thats it for another 5 years

as i recall nintendo has actually always went for the most technologically advanced console up until the DS. also, what they release with their consoles is really nothing new, actually, they have been downgraded a lot. n64 still used cartridges instead of newer CDs. then gamecube used the small discs instead of added a dvd player.

but about a wii2. i dont think it will sell nearly as much as wii one. the casual market making up the bulk of the wii owners wont fall for the same trick twice.

With the way Nintendo, Sony & Microsoft are making money off their consoles, I think this generation of consoles will without a doubt be the longest one. Nintendo specifically has already created a gold-mine with the Wii so I can't see them creating a new console in the next few years.
