All I meant with that comment was the difference in visuals won't be as noticeable in games then as it is now. PS4/Xbox 720 will have great visuals don't get me wrong, it just won't be that more impressive than what Nintendo brings out like it was this time around. PS3/360 cost a decent amount now, surely they don't want to make their consoles cost too much more so the additions won't be as huge, thats all I am saying.

And the next Nintendo console will have HD/Blu-Ray, the reason they don't now may be cost yes but its also because HD is not a common thing in all households so they didn't feel the need to work with that with the Wii. 5 years down the road it will be more common so integration of one of those will be used. Plus they're making more money this time around so I am hoping whatever they do make won't be another money grabber, I want it to make money just not steal it .

meh i dont no how good games wii be next gen, heck no one as actually pushed the ps3 to its limits, so we dont no how good this gen is...

but i hope the '720' again comes out before the wii2 and nintendo look at its specs and make it slightly more powerful so we get the good multi games along with top dev's who 'now' becuase the wii is more powerful dont think its a 'toy' and wii make a game for it

HA HA wifi is built into the Wii yes, but you need some kind of wireless network to use it like a wireless modem or router, if you do not have this on your computer you need to get something to give your Wii online. Such as a Wifi USB adapter to connect it to the internet.

The next nintendo console will be a quantum leap in comparison to the wii. Just as the ps3 is in comparison to the ps2.

The cycle is repeating itself here. Only roles are a bit different now.

360 is the fan favorite compared to the last gen's ps2. With it's familiar online scheme and loyal fan following it's become the first choice for many gamers.

ps3 has taken the place of last gen's xbox 1. Large price tag, skepticism amongst consumers, slow start in sales.
The system is ahead of it's time and will eventually gain momentum but more than likely (like the xbox) not fast enough to pull into first place for long.

Then the wii has taken a low-tech approach. The fact that they've expanded the market is noteworthy, although they've pushed the hardcore gamer to the backseat in many a case. The simplicity and inviting controls of the wii are among the sales points for the console.
Although they lack power and storage the casual crowd is a force to be reckoned with. Also they are making a profit from the sales on the console units as well as the game sales.
So they have MUCH more capital to invest into R&D for the next console. Kind of like the ps2. It was affordable, it was fun, and it was easy to develop for. Then the ps3 was a huge step forward in technology, and we can expect the same from Ninty.
The wii was an unexpected success. The fact that ninty themselves weren't expecting such a huge hit on their hands is proof enough.

They (ninty) seem to be more concerned with pulling their asses out of the fire so-to-speak, than advancing gaming as a whole. They needed to make up for the finical disappointments of the n64, and GCN.
So their main goal is to gain back market share, then they will concentrate on expanding the game market.

The fact that the wii isn't HD and lacks storage will be remedied next gen since they'll have enough money to invest into better technology, perhaps enough to rival if not one-up the other two companies.

Reason I go so far as to think they may out-do the others, is because they are a gaming company first and foremost. Sony and M$ have to allocate funds to their gaming departments even though they are giants in comparison to Nintendo's "David", if you will.
Although Sony or M$ could potentially buy ninty if they wanted (in theory). They are multi-faced companies with many other more important areas than gaming, so the higher-ups may decide to shortchange the gaming departments down the road in favor of other ventures.

No one knows what the future brings. We may all be surprised at whats in store for us down the road.

Visuals will not super seed the PC. At the current rate the Wii along with PC gaming will only allow more effects than the current generation. What would be cool is if the Wii was shrink down and made a companion chip with in the next nintendo system so that basically it will be clocked high and used only when needed. Then nintendo could still have a programmable GPU interface for the next system which is all they really need and of course a chips clocked at 3 gigs. I guess the question is can that be in a $250-300 range by say 2011-13 , Thats a lot of time and the way things are going chips are going to get way crazier by that time.

well im kind of a hardcore pc gamer tbh, as i play fps and some mmo's most of the day and im only on my wii frequntly, (no games make me feel like playing again and again, or they dont have online play to keep me occupied)

but ever since the wii came out i have been keen on console gaming ( i was keen when the ps2 was out but i never read reviews or looked at news etc)

i honestly think the next wii will be nicly done, i think the graphics will be just above the ps3 standerds atm- this is because in a couple of years this tecnology will be cheaper and again nintendo will get a cheap console out there which benifets everyone

(this will agian get it called names like kids toy etc, but its funny how the other systems have some sort of motion control) (well 360 is rumoured)

but what i really want to see is the new wii have better more accurate controls, if i sping one way at a slow pace i want it to notice, this will make games with sword fighting more enjoyable and games will require more skill and not just a flick of the wrist.

i can honestly say will myself getting a job soon that i will be probarly running out to get a wii 2, but hell that ages away, guess we will wait and see

That sound pretty hot, i would buy it if it wasn't too expensive. The thing about the wii currently is it is so cheap compared to this gen gaming systems which makes it a good bargain which features that aren't included in the other current gen gaming systems.

Only thing I want is games. The games on the Wii right now is OK, but I'd prefer better games. Oh yeah, better graphics too.

Just to tell you, it worries me if the Wii 2 came out just because of better graphics and better games - I mean, better games can go out for the original Wii too... Plus, it would take me forever to ask my mum to buy me one ;p

Nintendo is unique with their consoles and names. All I can say is the next handheld for Nintendo (if successful) will have some inspiration for the next and upcoming console which is 5-6 years away from now...and in that good time I will be close to 30... :-\
