Question about pre-ordering at Circuit City/Best Buys/GameStop
So I want to pre-order a game and I don't want to use cash because I don't feel like paying for the game right away. So instead of using my cash, my mom is letting me burrow her credit card and then I pay her later.
BUT, I can't use her credit card in person because they ask for ID and I look nothing like a lady. So I was wondering, if I pre-order a game online, will I get it on the day of the release or will I have to wait 3-5 days after? Because I want GTA4 and I want it on the 29th, not May 4th or something.
If I don't get it on the same day, i'll just pay cash.

You should get it the day it comes out if you order it online. If not, a day later. I thought you didn't have to pay for a game in full. Usually a 5-10$ deposit works.

yea just pay in cash because you have to wait until they ship it to you & that will take like 3-5 days like you said.Or convince your mom to go with you to buy it.

Heh, don't really want to drag her down to Circuit City just so I can get my game. I have the money now, but I don't like having an empty pocket. Im trying to get money but with me being in college for 7 hours straight, it's sucking up time I could possibly work. So I have to try to scape money together hustler style. Im trying to sell more DVDs and get my money up.

I'd just borrow the card and wing it. I've used my old boss' personal card before to make purchases for him. He even gave me paid time to go pick up Halo 2 for him on launch day. It was at Gamestop where he had it reserved. They asked for ID and I just explained the situation and they had no problem with it. It's all about attitude in those situations. I wasn't nervous and didn't act like a thief. I was also in professional attire (business casual).

I pre-ordered Smash Bros from Newegg.com. They shipped a day before official release and I got it the day after release.

For me, SSBB took 6 days after the release to come to my house, from Circuit City. So I suggest you do NOT pre-order from them.

Thats weird it took a day after Brawls release for me to get the game from the Toys R' Us website.
As far as I know Best Buy only does pre-orders online, you can't do it in store.
So you could try to pre-order it from Best Buy online, or find cash to pre-order the game from somewhere else.
