I haven't noticed anything to show they swapped out the disc drive. They dont even say they cleaned the Wii in the letter they sent me. They just state they discovered the part that caused the problem ,and fixed/replaced it. Then they give you a manual on things like how to clean disc as double layer discs are more sensitive to smudges. I know dang well my problem wasn't smudges on the disc because it was brand new only played twice. Since i got it back my Wii works better than it did when it left before the problem. I use to have a slight delay in loading games sometimes now i never see that delay.

Mine didn't have trouble reading the disc, but I sent it in anyway because of the aweful sound when it loads. Well, I got it back and it still sounds terrible.. and after looking on the internet, that's normal. So it still sounds like a typewriter, but at least it works when you get it back...

Not to mention the extra year warranty when you send it in.
