Don't care at all. PS3 already has motion sensors, why should any of us be worried about 360 adopting the same technology?

If Nintendo ain't got a copyright/patent/trademark on the wiimote soon, they better start one, or if they do Ninty might sue MS for copyright infringement, then MS will come up with a countersuit for something -_-

As long as Micro$oft SLIGHTY change the idea, Ninty wont be able to sue them for anything. They do have a patent on the wiimote, but imo microsoft wouldnt be stupid enough to just copy it without fear of legal repercussions.

This doesnt really bother me. I didnt buy the wii for motion controls, online or 3rd party games. As long as nintendo makes good games I'm fine.

I think adding motion sensing to the 360 controller would ruin the Xbox. It is great on the Wii but it is an unecessary gimmick to add to the 360 and would piss off a lot of hardcore gamers. I say that Micrsoft should worry about their hardware problems rather than add features most would rather not have.

Nintendo does have a patent on the blue tooth use for a wireless motion sensing controller. As you have noticed that no Third party accessory developers such as mad catz or penguiin because nintendo locked up the right. They also patented the way it tilts i think? so microsoft is gonna have a heck of a time

Good for MS. I've been saying Nintendo should rip off Live! for over a year. That's how things work, when someone does something right, and prove it in the market, you emulate them. Most of the best stuff we all use came about not because the first person to think of it succeeded, but because someone else came along and made it a little better.

Newest deets indicate that there will in fact be an IR pointer with this thing, as joystiq mentioned a "sensor bar", and if you combine that with the 360's FPS library, this thing has a lot of potential.

If it does happen...

then Nintendo will just make it's own responce to whatever Microsoft produces.
It's normal competition. Business A makes a great product, so Business B trys to copy it while adding extras and making it overall better. Then Business A will do the same, but make some noticeable tweaks and make a better product.
This continues untill one business tries something revolutionary (like Nintendo did with the Wii). It will either send that business back, or propel it further if it's successful.
After some time, the other business will either try something "revolutionary" to try to jump back ahead, or they will try to "add-on" to the oppositions' product.
