I personally like the look. The wii looks great on my friends hd plasma even with out the component cable. So i think it would be well worth your money.

When I get my wii, it will be in my lounge, with my HD TV, so yeah hopefully it will look awesome.

I used to run the Wii on a 42" 720 Plasma but after 11 months of GH3 and MOHH2 marathons plus 80 hours beating zelda TP. I began to see the fret bar and HUDs for these games staying on the screen in that input (black). These rings etc stayed on there no matter how much "screen cleaner/orbiter" was used or tv was watched. I even went 2 weeks without playing those 2 games to see if it went away. nope. Tired of worrying about pausing movies, Letterboxes and the games I returned the TV to Costco for a full refund. I added $200 to that and now have a 47" 1080P Lcd. I will admit the standard def tv was better on the Plasma the High def is gorgeous on this set. THe Wii looks great and it is so nice not to have to worry about the Burn in. I can pause at will and even leave the mute button on as long as I want. 50% less power consumption is another + with the LCD. I am glad you like your set but I for one am glad I switched as as careful as I was I still got the Burn in I was told was no longer a problem.

Don't expect high definition, as the Wii obviously is NOT high definition.
It will never look as good as it does on a smaller TV.

Did you do the 100hrs or burn in reduction stuff that you should? Because I play all that stuff and I'm kinda worried, but I've been supirsed that nothing's been coming up. Reason I went Plasma was because it can go bigger and still keep a good picture, LCD is getting better everyday, but just not good enough for me...Still too fuzzy.

Yes I kept the Brightness and all settings low to start and actually did the break in for 200 hours and always used the burn in reduction. I always changed the input to tv when a game or movie was paused for more than a few seconds. In a dark room go to the input you use for wii but don't have the wii turned on on the black lit screen you may see rings and lines from games or even the Mute icon from the Tv. I am not talking about temporary image retention. I could see the ring from the Radar on MOHH2 on the left bottom of the screen all of the time and the fret bar from GH3. I would run the Image cleaner for Hours sometimes and still on the black screen it would be there. It may not have affected the regular broadcast TV picture but I am not sure if the continued gaming might have after more time (years). I was cheaply able to upgrade to a set with no worries, bigger size and 1080p with the LCD and I am so Glad I did.

LCD is the way to go. I've had my 32" LCD Samsung for almost a year. Love the thing to death...

well it could also have a lot to do with the brand and quility of Plasma you bought. Everything matters a great deal. resolution, contrast ratio, incoming formating signals, DOES IT HAVE A ANTI BURN PROTECTION MODE?? etc. I even called nintendo and asked then what they recomend......After about 2 MONTHS of researching and making calls I found the Samsung FP-T5084...
you cant find a better tv for the money...TRUST me. anyway if your in the market for a new plasma here is the link to the c-net reveiew.

Like I said, LCDs are just too small for me...Even though that's not really small.

I'd stick to a medium-big sized standard def tv for the Wii.

Panasonic plasmas are the best bang for the $. Pioneers are the best and pricey, but worth it IMO if you can afford it.
