I've been searching for a monitor or HDTV to play my Wii through. I'm looking for a 22" screen, and it appears monitors are cheaper than televisions at that size. If I went with a monitor, I'd need one with component input. The issue is how do I get sound? If I bought a monitor with component input and built-in speakers, would it playback the Wii's audio?

i think what you need is something like this one.

instead of connecting the usual green cable for the speakers, you connect this to the speaker port and then the wii's audio cable.

Aha.. So, is there something like that that would allow me to connect computer speakers directly to my Wii?

your best bet is to ask around electronics stores or ones that sell audio equipment. might as well print the image to show them what youre looking for.
