New UK only wii channel (possibly)

well most of us have heard the news about bbciplayer working on the wiis internet channel, well looking into the details a bit more i came across this.

On your Wii, you'll first need to install the Internet Channel, which costs 500 Wii points, or approx. £3.50 (unfortunately there's no alternative to having to buy the Wii Internet Channel for BBC iPlayer web site access at this time - but later we hope to be able to get BBC iPlayer on Wii without this purchase being needed). After you've installed the Internet Channel, browse to www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer, find your favourite programme, and hit Play. The programme should play immediately

so what do ya think? think it will be a reality, as i dont see anyway they could do this unless it was a seperate channel, and wouldnt think bbc would go outside UK so. i for one would love this to go ahead.

Yeah i watched eastenders last night using this on my Wii, a great idea and i would love it as a channel, because my family love eastenders, the apprentice, etc and they are all shown on the iplayer, so its not a big deal if we miss them.

When it says it costs 500 points. If you buy points on the Wii. You would have to buy 1000 points. So the price doubles. I know it's not a fortune, but you would have thought the web browser would have been free.

It was until June of 2007...I see it as a gift to all those people who got their wiis early

But this seems like a good thing to have...But does it really stream STRAIGHT away?

my internet connection is quite crap i can play online fine and pc connectio is fine, but my wii is to far ffrom my routrer (no way of geting it closer) so when i try this it takes ages and ages to buffer, but if you have a good quality signal, it should buffer while watching so no need to stop n start. and sometimes its buffered within a mintu

This is totally different.
its legal and great quality, and might become a channel plus bbc is massive in uk way bigger than alluc
