-Scrap multiple friend codes for a Gamertag or single code system.
-Put a hard drive in.
-Make it region-free.
-Up the number of VC games per week.
-Lower the prices of VC games.
(what that Napalmbrain said)
-60fps
-HD graphics
-1080p
-no FC's, use name accounts
maybe more..but I can't think of any more ATM.

You know what? Friend Codes don't bother me so much. It's sort of like the ICQ vs. AIM thing.
Hear me out...
First, there was ICQ and most anyone IMing was using that. ICQ assigned you a "UIN" number, but you had a name to go along with it. Names didn't have to be unique across the network because it was the UIN that distinguished peolpe. When you added someone to your list, you could choose to have their name displayed (actually, any variation: "First Last", "Last, First", "nickname", etc). My nickname was my first name.... so although there might be 19123801980 other people with the same first name as me on ICQ, when friends/family added me I could still appear as my first name, which made sense to them.
With AIM, the distinguishing bit was the name itself. So you couldn't appear as "Jim" or "Kate". You had to be "Jim0985092" or "SexyKateNY77" or "IHeartPinkPonies12". Easy to remember in order to give out? Maybe. Easy to tell who's who? No.
So when faced with two events: giving out your name to someone, and looking at your friend list to see who's who... which of those two do you do more-often?
The latter. So it'd make sense for that one to have the benefit of ease-of-use, even if it makes the former a bit more-difficult.
When I went into Mario Kart, and put in my friend James' Friend Code, it came up and now just shows "Jim" in my friends list. Perfect.
Having to deal with "name accounts" where my friends now look like "Zenoguy" or "Super BB" would be a step backwards.

That is true, in brawl it works well. Im just willy. Not
Willy30958934019847035. I hate those numbers.
Things i would change:
More Third party support
Bit more memory
Region free
Better online (friend code system improved, lobbies, headset and such)
other than that
mine works well
