@Sagema: I'll take my chances with the viruses (which the likes of IGN don't intentionally allow on their sites, so you're not too likely to come across them anyway) rather than rely solely on biased coverage from Nintendo.

How can any of this coverage from Nintendo be any more biased than the coverage from IGN. They both show trailers of games which are designed to make games look the best they can be. \they both have developer interviews in which devs are going to make their game seem worthwhile. And aqs regards reviews I guess there may be more to be said for Ign than the reviews of ordinary Wii owners.

I've always found IGN reviews to be quite honest, often brutally honest. They give ratings that I've agreed with after personally playing the games, and they don't pull any punches saying what they don't like about games, even popular games like Mario Kart.
One need only go to the game list, sort by rating, and watch/read the reviews of the games with low numbers to find plenty of examples.

What's the betting that half the reviews read something like "OMG THAT WAS TEH BEST GAME EVAR!!!"?
I just prefer reviews from professional sites, since they're not written by fanboys (usually) and thus they're more critical. I can't stand it when reviewers go soft on a video game.

Well in my post i did say igns reviews are of course more professional. Everything else i said stands and for of personally the reviews are just a small part of the channel. I think the videos and ds demos should be great
Well, I've been a computer IT professional for almost 20 years. I've gone through my share of computers.
Well, I was about to say something about what you said, but I was thinking about all the ways that you, as a 20-year IT, could probably prove me wrong. So I have decided to be quiet.

I like the nintendo channel...mostly for the downloads. I may actually use my DS again! (it'll be the first time in years)
The wiiware idea may do well...then again it may bomb horribly.
Hopefully it will do well, although I wonder if you can technically consider it an extension of the virtual console service rather than it's own service. The only differences being that you buying games made for the wii specifically made by any publisher whom chooses to do so (unless that's been changed).
Something tells me there will be a slow start in the wiiware community but it should hopefully pick up by the end of the year.

There are over 100 WiiWare games already waiting to happen (in development, announced, or the devs are still waiting for permission from Ninty).
Don't have a link, but I remember hearing it somewhere.
