Casual or hardcore gamer?

Addition to the list -
Hardcore
You have a day off school/Work sick just to play/buy a game
You book a week/day of work to get the newest game/console

Casual
You work in the games department in HMV/Game/Asda/Tesco/<Insert others>

I do know more about video games than anyone I know, which really isn't saying much. The thing that I know that none else seems to know is that the Magnavox Odyssey was the first home gaming console. A crappy one (Pong with a bunch of different "fields"). Anyway, gaming history wise, I'm not that bright. I'm not the best gamer either. I just have a great interest in games, pushing me a little towards the hardcore side.

I took a Optional Day For Mario Kart hehe NerdishHardcorePlayer

and when star Wars Comes Out for The wii ill ask For My Vacation Week So I Can Play that all week + hehe

Its ok , differing opinions is what this is all about. I was just trying to say that I think its the player not the game that is classed as hardcore.

Hardcore is also playin a japanse RPG in Japanse without beein able to read Japanse
( have done that)
Theres some Japanse games that are hardcore or so ive been told

That's not hardcore, that's dumb. The only exception to what I said is if the American version isn't out yet.

The American version of some of my games isnt out at all

hardcore is when gaming becomes your main hobby. if you crave info about games, always are playing games in you spare time, and get excited over games announced that will come out a year from then, then youre a hardcore gamer.

im a hardcore gamer cause i was playing this game on the ps2 none stop and then it was 12:00 pm and my stomach started hurting and i had to stop

I'm pretty sure I'm a casual gamer. I only play on my spare time sometimes usually at night, I play with my friends once in a while, and I'd never take a day off of work for a system or game. But lately I've been buying a lot of games of the Wii's virtual console, and I can't stop playing them in my spare time. I guess I'm kind of a hardcore gamer for old games. I have a lot of new Wii games, but I don't play them as much as the VC games. I've beaten Paper Mario and Dynamite Headdy before I even got past the training-type beginning levels of Okami.

Most older games are better than these newer ones anyway

Ok so Okami was good (done it on PS2 over a year ago)

I agree with Sovieto, I think that it also means it's become your life, not just a hobby.
