How Much Is My Collection Worth?

I'm in a tight bind right now, and it almost makes me sick to the stomach, but here it is: I am looking to sell my Wii hardware and game collection.

Now, I realize this is a highly-Wii-favored environment so please refrain from the "why would you sell the Wii it's awesome and you suck" comments, =).

You can see my game collection below, in my sig. All of that with the system, plus 2 Wiimotes, 1 Nunchuk, Wii Component Cables.

Okay, so here's the worst part: I'm selling these to save $$$ for a possible PS3 purchase. As a gamer looking for higher quality selections, mature themes, and harder difficulty levels, I cannot help but to eye the coveted GTA4 (ranked in parallel with Ocarina of Time greatness), and upcoming juggernauts Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XVIII. I am a huge, huge Nintendo fan at heart (owned NES, SNES, GB, GBA, N64, Wii) but I think there comes a time when one must turn a new leaf. In short, the new Brawl didn't deliver for me and I'm tired of the ports with added Wii gimmicks. I have come to realize that my fanboyism has unfairly turned me biased against other consoles, when they really have much more to offer.

I welcome responses that can give me a fair monetary estimate of the value of my entire collection (all in very good condition) and also responses that help argue why Wii > PS3, because I've been looking and looking for those reasons...

Additionally, if the buyer so chooses it, I can offer them all these games that are near 100% (LoZ: TP all hearts and bugs, MP3: 100% logbook, SMGalaxy 242 stars, etc. Brawl has all characters but not all trophies, Mario Kart only about 70% unlocked).

As well as the VC games that should come loaded into the Wii console.

These are factors to consider when I post this, probably on eBay. WiiChat, please don't lock this down I am not looking for customers, but merely fair estimates of value, and thoughts on my conversion to PS3.

Did you ever register your system on MyNintendo.com?

If not you should tell the buyer that they could register your system under there name/account. That way they always have access to those VC games.

It's to bad your selling the system, but you have good taste. Every single game/download you have is good!

I don't know. If I had to guess, I would say each VC game is about $5, each Wii game is about $30, and the system itself is $200. The Wiimote is probably about $20 (one comes with the system, don't add that) and the Nunchuck is probably $7-$10. I would check eBay though... find the average price there.

Also consider selling everything separate versus bundled. Sometimes you are better off selling everything individually, and could get more money. People want bargains with bundle deals. I've found that I make more selling games and accessories individually.

I'm looking to get roughly $340 from GameStop, if you throw in two GC games and a couple GC controllers... It's a monster library but that's also a great chunk of cash to lay down for another monster purchase. *shrug*

i used to own a xbox 360 about a half a year ago. I sold it to upgrade my PC because most good titles for it end up getting released on the PC. So later on i wanted a concole that i can have fun either by myself or with friends and Wii has succeeded my concole needs. I also think GTA 4 is overrated. It's single player is really good but dont expect much from the multi player.

Erm...To be honest, I think GTA is the other way around, online is new, nice and fresh, and a whole heapf fun with friends. I'm also considering getting PS3 at the end of this year. Price Drops and good game releases will make up my mind.

Sorry to Knit-pick, but I think your 5 games to early for that.

Your choice to get a PS3 is not wrong, I would've bought one myself if my brother didn't beat me too it(It just seems silly to have two in the same house).

Though I'll be buying a PS3 myself sometime despite my brother, I don't know if I will sell my Wii. The majority of consoles to me have built up a kind of sentimental value to them and I have kept all the ones I owned. Except my Xbox360, sold that 2 weeks after I got it.

Put it up as bidding, not as Buy It Now. And sell all the games seperately, you will get more for them.

Yep. Sell the Wii and accessories in one auction and each of the games in separate auctions. You'll get way more money. And DON'T take it to Gamestop, whatever you do!

As for what you'll get, this is what you'll probably get BEFORE fees (eBay and Paypal) not including shipping:

Wii and accessories -- $275ish

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - $25-$30
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition - $15-$18
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - $25
Super Mario Galaxy - $30
SSBM - $25-30
F-Zero - $10

Thanks for the input guys. I did NOT take it to GameStop, those greedy corporate suckers!

I am deciding to keep the Wii. Some games are too classic for me to let go completely, I still regard Melee as the best game ever, and Nintendo may have a few titles to be unleashed in the future (such as a Zelda game).

I did however, sell Twilight Princess for $25 ($20 after shipping/PayPal fees) because that games had the absolute least replay value in comparison to the rest of the games. It can also be considered a Gamecube port..

Well yeah. Zelda was only single player and would be the same playing back every time. This is why the Wii needs some form of Achievements, they add a ton of replayability to the least replayable games.
