Well first off, what kind of router or modem do you have?

I'm guessing since you have AT&T that you have a 2Wire?

If so, what kind is it?

Did you read your manual and also check the online support section of nintendo.com if needed?

bingo, but after you click on your connection your gonna have to enter a wep key. I is a 10 number code in brackets [] on the bottom of your 2wire box. It's between two barcodes. Enter that and it should be all connected and ready to use. Hope i helped.

It comes secured as default? I don't have experience with 2wire but I'll make a mental note of that. That is a pretty good idea on AT&T's part to set up security before the user even gets ahold of it.

i've never heard of such either. That might have something to do with customers complaining of slow internet speed because freeloading neighbors eat up bandwidth with a X360 and BitTorrent running.

If all else fails, you can grab an Ethernet adapter for the Wii, which allows you to use an Ethernet cable to go from your router to the Wii, bypassing the wireless connection, which (btw) is much slower than a wired connection.

Do you have the #'s to prove it? A lot of people would be interested in seeing them I believe.

802.11g, which is the current standard in consumer wireless Ethernet, operates at a maximum transmission rate of 54 Megabits per second. A 100BASE-T Ethernet connection transmits 100 megabits per second. 802.11n, which the Wii does not suppport, carries a multiple input/multi output (MIMO) max rate of 300 mbits/second. Depending on your connection to the internet (DSL, A-DSL, Cable, etc.) will judge your overall connection, but the client to access point connection is faster over 100base-T ethernet.

If you have a wireless 2Wire modem, the WEP code will be right under the bar code in brackets. []. I know this because I too own a 2Wire. The bar code will be either under or on the bottom side of your modem.

I want real #'s, not connection rates. For all we know the Wii is throttled to go only as fast as the wireless allows, since the LAN wasn't out at launch. I know in theory that wired is of course faster, but does the Wii see any change from this? This has been discussed for awhile now, and noone can post up/down #'s to prove it one way or the other yet
