I went to game stop to preorder mine, after asking if they had any preorders left.. i did just that...
Then looking at the receipt a little closer a week ago, i noticed next to my preorder (had sevral purchases on there so it didnt just jump out at me) it said 2nd ship next to the preorder purchase
I was like hmmm, so i called them up and asked about it , and yeah i wont be getting mine till the 23rd (friday)
Dirty Trick, but atleast its not to much longer than the orignal release date..

Does anyone know if they will have any in wal mart tonight? Do you think wal mart would start selling the products at midnight, or no?

Why not call WalMart and ask them? Your local store will know the answer.

I just called my local walmart, they said they have "plenty" in stock.
I'll probably just wait until I get off of work and go. I mean, I get a lunch break, but I dont know if I want to take it for that (I gotta eat!). Wait, that doesnt sound like the Wii Fit attitude!

Just picked up at Best Buy. They had 15 copies that where not preorders. I was # 3 so got mine no problem. They had a demo set up with free smoothies and you could try the game. Free wristbands and Wiiremote keychains. I demo'd while there and it is alot harder than I thought it would be. I am pretty good at the Ski Jump.

I think people are going to buy it, have mild intererest in it for a few weeks and then it'll be collecting dust somewhere. Nintendo is notorious for putting out peripherals that never truly come to fruition. And if you look at it, how can they? The fact is if everyone doesn't own one, then you're cutting your profits by releasing ANYTHING that was built around using that said peripheral. Save your cash and go to the gym.

You're assuming that people are going to do it because they think that they can get fit solely by using WiiFit.
(I believe I saw a study that stated that it only makes people use 2% more energy in a day.)
It can lead people to be more active in their life, and consider the choices they make daily to influence their health (nutrition, watching tv or not, etc.) It can help them get into the habit of being healthy.
Lastly, getting up and exercising, even if it's very low-intensity, helps to release endorphins. It makes people feel happy. What's wrong with that?

For those of you who are still looking for Wii Fit in California, try Sam's Club or Costco Brick & Mortar stores. They seem to have got a lot (I could count more than 30 remaining at a Costco store that too after lunch hour) compared to other stores. Cosctco's in California are selling it for $79.99 + taxes.
The local Craigslist had some losers selling new and unopened units for around $100 (making $14 or less in profit).
If you can't make it today, try early morning on Memorial Day at your local Best Buy, Circuit City, K-Mart, Target, ToysRUs or Wal-Mart stores. Most of them are going to carry at the least 10 units.
Going by what I have seen so far, I wonder if we are really going to have the anticipated shortage!
By the way, Wii Balance Board and Wii Fit Game is really good and worth a look even for the skeptics.

I picked one up at my Sam's Club this morning. Looked like they still had lots left from the display.
