Nintendo Wii (NTSC USA) for India
To make your Nintendo Wii (NTSC USA) work in India, you will need the following apart from what comes in the Wii box:
1. Universal (100-240VAC/50-60Hz/5-15A Input) Wii AC Adapter with 2 Pin North American Plug (works in USA directly, India with plug adapter) OR 220-240VAC/50Hz/5A Input Wii AC Adapter with 2 Pin European Plug (works in India directly) both with 12VDC/3.7A Output.

3. NTSC Color Television (Most new televisions available in India are capable of playing NTSC, SECAM and PAL color systems. You need to check your television manual to change the color system to NTSC if the television automatically does not switch to NTSC color upon connecting your Wii).
4. Internet Connection (Connect your Wii to the Internet wirelessly via any 802.11b/g Wireless Router OR Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector and wired via Wii LAN Adapter. Internet connection is required for system software updates, downloading games, channels, updating channels and browsing the Internet via optionally bought Internet Channel).

6. Standard Capacity (supports upto 2GB) SD Memory Card (Copy downloaded channels, games and game saves to free up the built-in memory for new channels, games and game saves. Also copy JPEG pictures and AAC music from your gadgets to watch and listen on the television).

:-\ you don't need all of these things just to play in India ... this isn't a buyers guide to a Wii. Other than the power adapter, which is given, it will rely on what type of television is purchased over there. PAL is the format supported, but you should be able to find TVs with NTSC tuners as well. If you buy Wii games in India, barring they are not illegally imported from US/Canada, they will be Region 5, which will not work on a US/Canada Wii.

Items 7 to 12 come under section "Optional". It is provided based on what most Indians I know off took back home.
Almost all new televisions in India support multiple color systems (i.e., PAL, SECAM and NTSC including most of their variations) and there are no problems connecting them to your Wii NTSC USA. Your Wii NTSC USA will not work with older televisions which do not support any other color system except the India's default PAL color system.
You can legally import Wii NTSC USA games in India directly on the Internet via sellers who ship to India or via authorized Indian importing businesses. The downside is they will end up expensive. The best and cheaper alternative is to buy them from USA when you are in USA or get them from the people you know who are coming to India from USA.
