We've all discussed Nintendo allowing either USB drives or SD-Cards, updating SD to SDHC, but I never hear anyone suggest the Gamecube memory ports.

Could Nintendo not make a huge memory-card for that port? It's their proprietary memory format and hardware, maybe than can make a huge card for that. This would make it less easy for the average consumer to hack than off-the-shelf USB drives or SD-cards.

They could then update the OS to support running games/channels directly from this huge (8+ gb) memory-card.

Sure, it would still be modded/hacked but it would not be as easy as with a USB HD or SD card.

maybe but i dont see it, i dont no if the wii can read off the gc memery card slots or its just the gamecube part of the which can use them

I assume the Gamecube memory slots are rather low capacity and/or slow as hell.
