Hello,
When I put in the disk, the console does not start automatically. I have the AV cable hooked up to my Panasonic HDTV. I have a DVR, and receiver. The input is Video 1.

When I start it manually ti can also hear the sound from the tv.

Any ideas of what I did wrong?

Thanks very much.

I know you have to turn the power on, but shouldn't it auto start? Do you know why I am hearing the tv and wii simultaneously.

Thanks for your post

Are you talking about the sound coming from the Wiimote? It's supposed to be that way the wiimotes have a speaker in them for sound effects.

And no if you put a disc in it doesn't turn on the Wii automatically (at least not when in standby mode with wii connect 24 enabled).

The Wii does turn itself on automatically when you insert a disk :S I even tested it myself just now just in case I was misremembering. I keep my Wii in standby mode with WiiConnect24 enabled, like it says in the previous post. Galewins, I'm not sure why your Wii doesn't start up automatically, but apparently you're not alone in that... XD

The sound issue seems like either a problem with the TV itself, or with the way you have it set up - it can't be a problem with the Wii. Have you gone through the TV's on-screen menus and made sure it's set to use the correct sound input?
