I think that's just a unintended interpretation of what he was talking about. Possibly delibaterately to rile up people, and create more hits.
Chances are that he was talking about the mood of the game or features that don't quite gel with the Mazzaverse.

i dont see it as a stab at sega~ But sega games have a different feel then nintendo thats for sure.

My interpretation of that is that Nintendo want to create a total brand identity that stands separate from it's competitors, so that if you walk past a TV that has a video game being played on it you will instinctively know that it is a Nintendo title. Look at the current range of games .. .. .. Wii sports, Wii Fit, Mario Kart .. .. .. all are easily identifiable as Nintendo brand titles partly because of their overall visual style.
Some will interpret that as an agresive statement and they may be right but for me it seems more about creating brand identity.

Thats not a stab at all really, sure they have Sega in the back of their minds and don't want to do things that send them down the wrong road. But really they have an idea of what games are and so does Sega and if they don't want their games to look like Sega's so be it.

yeah i think he was talking more about how he wanted to set his self apart from the competition. if you had a grain of brain youd know nitnendo and sega were seriously in heated battle, im sure neither really thought the other games were garbage/bad...

I do agree with Toomstone, Sega games have recently been flushed down the toilet. When it comes to Sega gaming, the classics are where you want to go. Thankfully the Wii offers Virtual Console so we don't have to live off Sonic and the Secret Rings.
I'm not too pumped for Sonic: Unleashed either.
