Hmm but then you aren't paying $100 a game etc, so it kind of evens itself out. I guess. Although, still there was a time when the Australian dollar was very poor in comparison. Americans would come to Australia and be rich. Now, not so much.

Eh, John Howard didn't exactly do a bang up job down here either. Interest rates? Ha. That's nothing. They go for the thing everyone needs - petrol. And at the rate petrol is rising, Australia isn't going to be the fattest country for long because we won't be able to afford to be lazy.

At Woolworths in Australia, a 15 year old check-out operator gets paid ~$9.20, a 16 year old ~$10.30, a 17 year old $11.50, a 18 year old $13.50, a 19 year old $15.50, a 20 year old $17.70 and a 21 year old or above ~$20. These rates are for casual staff. Can anyone give me a direct comparison in America or England?
BTW, full time staff get paid 83.33% of the above rates.

That's odd. When I was 16 I got paid 10.30 during Xmas period. Then around mid July I got paid $9.20 - and was told that was the "proper" rate or something. I admit, I don't think the person knew what they were talking about. And then when I turned 17 I went to $11.50 - so clearly they didn't have a problem with my age. I suspect they decided to pay me for a contract without actually telling me. And really, I would NOT put it past the staff at the time. I was under the impression I was working casual, but maybe I wasn't?

god, this makes me sad that us canadians have to pay 70 bucks for a wii game, our damn dollar is basicly the same as the american now
games usually go down in price because they are old, or they just arent selling
usually remakes like re4 and okami are priced at 40 bucks here in canada, i dont know about other places
