If you install hacks into your Wii, you run the risk of Nintendo destroying your console in a firmware update(They've done so in the past). So do the math, DVD players cost $20, and the Wii costs $250. If you don't have $20 for a DVD player, then don't risk destroying your $250 Wii. Because you can't afford it. You can also buy a PS2 for $70 on Amazon.com. It has... DVD playback!

Sagema, this is the reason on why so many children here want DVD playback on their Wii systems. How can anyone not see what these kids are bitching about? If you want to watch an actual movie, you can watch it in the living room/dining room/guest room/etc without any hesitation...unless it's past your bed time of course.

Man, those are severly poor kids. I didn't have trouble back as a kid getting $20 from my parents, if VHS players were that price. Sure it would take a few weeks. That was back in the 1980's living with one brother and two sisters. My parents weren't swimming in cash, but I still managed to get stuff.

It's not the fact they can't afford it (sure, some maybe broke a lot) but they're pissed because it's not already implemented.
Like I said, the motto of some "so called gamers" should be 'Wii want it All!'
(There really should be a delete post option to delete double posts.)

The twilight hack is safe, it requires no modding either.

No hack is safe, hence it being called a hack.

That's not the point I was making, what I was trying to say was having DVD on Wii would have been nice so I didn't have to take out one or the other to make room for it (and really if your watching a movie you don't need your Wii hooked up as well so thats I take that out).
Convenience is what I look for.

nowhere did i mention your name also how did this thread get un-locked?
so you are sayting that you remove all the wii cables when not useing it? why on the earth would you do that?
if it is convinience you are looking for (this goes out to other people too) then just put your wii sideways and stack it on top of the dvd player or stack the dvd player on top of the wii. or you might even be able to tape it together. OH NOEZ!!!!!

No, all a hack is is a get around. It can be safe or unsafe. Hack just is a get around.
hopefully saying it twice will help.

Just to let you all know the actual download is now there for the public here.
It's still early so may be a little choppy but it's still ok.
The folks at HackMii really are exploiting the Wii...twilight hack...homebrew and now a download that unlocks the dvd playback on the Wii.
