I recently bought a Wii for my birthday, I thought maybe it could just live in my lounge. But I found i enjoy my Wii alot more than I thought.

So I though why dont I try and get it working on my computer monitor, obviously there is no VGA adapter for the Wii. So I bought necessary adapters and converters:
Wii component cable
A YUV to DVI Adapter
A DVI to VGA Adapter.

My monitor supports DVI but for some reason it cannot detect anything through it.
It WORKED! However it is very green (in fact everything that should be white is green) this can appear very annoying and only just playable.

This could be a problem with the YUV to DVI adapter or the DVI to VGA adapter. Which one is it? or can anyone help me because it a real shame that it doesnt work cos the rest of the family want to go in the lounge. Also I have an Xbox 360 hooked up to my monitor via VGA cable so why cant my Wii do the same.
Thanks,
All help will be appreciated.

Eh, you went overboard with the adapters, dude. A VGA box would have only required the one adapter, and you could have plugged component cables straight into it.

Also, what is YUV...

What do you mean your monitor wont detect anything from the DVI port?

Have you tried finding a manual switch button on the monitor? what about in the GUI?

My suggestion would be to eliminate the second adapter, and try to plug directly into the DVI port. I use a monitor, but I have a box hooked into the VGA port, sans adapter.

yeah ive found the manual switch and that will only switch if i have somthing plugged in both Vga and DVI ports and it doesnt work anywaay also how do i upgrade the GUI? also my monitor is an Acer X222W 22" 1650 * 1080 pixels.
I have to agree i think that is most likely the problem.

My monitor works somewhat like that. It won't manually switch over unless I have something plugged in, AND the device is on. I have my computer hooked up to my monitors DVI port, and my VGA box into the VGA port.

I only have two suggestions - barring getting a meter and testing the adapters to see if you're getting a signal - one would be to find a direct component>VGA adapter, eliminating the DVI adapter, and the other would be buy a box.
