We had this glass of water next (about two or three feet away) to our Wii, and somehow it tipped over and spilled. After we noticed, we picked the Wii up and dried it. We then checked if it could work. It did, and we played Mario Kart Wii ^_^. And then about 1-2 days later, it stopped working. By that, I mean it won't read games. The VC is fine, and so is the Internet Channel. Basically everything works except for the disc play.

Help and comments appreciated, thanks.

Well it's just the disc drive, so don't panic, it sounds fixable If nothing else works call nintendo and they can offer a solution.

Well, I didn't really want to call Nintendo (mostly so I don't have to get my parents involved :\ ) but it sounds like I might have to. Thanks for the help. If anyone else has a solution, that would be awesome.

Disc read errors are becoming more common as the older Wiis get dirtier. Mine has been back to Nintendo for a clean. It is the best solution to your problem (especially if your Wii is less than a year old) .. .. .. then the repair will be totally free.

You don't need to mention the water to your parents as it might not be the cause.

Thank you so much. I'm pretty sure it's less than a year old, but I think I might be getting close to the "anniversary." Where should I send it exactly? Or should I just browse Nintendo's website until I find it?

Depends on where in the world you are. If you go to the Nintendo site for your region then there will be details of how to contact them. In the UK there is
http://www.nintendoservicecentre.co.uk/

where you can enter all of your details and start the repair process.

A piece of advice .. .. .. .. .. before you pack your Wii up to send it off to Nintendo print out your name, address and repair job number and stick it to to both sides of your wii with tape. It will help to ensure that you get your Wii returned to you and not someone else's Wii.
