Hi.......here is a slightly unusual Wii chat subject ! Im a disabled Wii fan of ancient years....two tin legs, one artificial arm, and an Everton FC supporter ! So thats the bad news. Surprisingly im able to lots of Wii Fit stuff which is great......but Id like to branch out and try more of the games. Problem, the only-one-hand thing keeps getting in the way. This is understandable as Nintendo designers dont sit there fretting about their latest game's compatability with one-handed types, being as they are more your mass market type of guys.
So....can anyone out there help ? Ineed to know what the games are that just use the Wii mote for controls and NOT the mote AND numchuck ? Alternatively, any games that just use the numchuck ? So far ive got to grips with the Wii Sports, excepting the boxing. Most of Wii Play is fine. But I branched out and bought a jet plane sim and immediately released my error as it seems impossible to just use the mote. I have Wing Island on the way which seems ok for us one-handed types. But Id love to hear some advice on ANY game(s) from Wii users who have experience of happily playing along with just the Wii Mote.
cheers, Mark

If you can get to grips with a racing games that support motion control, you really only need to use the gas.
Some of the WiiPlay minigames only require pointing and shooting. I know I only use one hand to play Beer Pong. The internet channel + wiicade.com. Uhhh, still thinking.

It says on the box if the nunchuk is required, in little print also racing games generally require an extra hand to use the dpad & A button.

You could try Warioware, it requires only the wiimote and you'd be able to do most things 1 handed, madden 08 also has a wiimote only option. I'll post more when I think of them.

Endless Ocean and We Love Golf! (although you'll need a fairly good backswing to play) use just the Wiimote and can be played one handed.
There are the Wiiware titles Defend Your Castle and PoP.
Someone I know from another forum was trying to create a games database for people with varying degrees of disability. I'll drop him a PM there and see if it's nearing completion.

A few games I have that only use the wiimote:
Zack and Wiki (Point and click puzzle adventure)
Mercury Meltdown Revolution (Tilt labyrinth style puzzle game)
Boom Blox (Sort of action-puzzle game. It shows the nunchuk on the box, but I think it's only used in the level creator as I can't recall ever needing it playing the game itself, though I have not given it much playtime as of late so someone can correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm pretty sure they said that cuase they're just releasing the game with a half-assed oldschool control style(SSBB).
anyway. there is only one game on wiiplay out of like 8, that use a nunchuck. and it's optional. everything else can be played with one hand. big brain academy can be played with 1 hand as well. ninja reflex is a one handed game. i'm sure there are others.
good luck

Can I say a big thank you to all who have helped me out by suggesting Wii games that can be played with one hand using just the Wii mote or chuck on their own. Made up with the response, much appreciated.
cheers, Mark

After a quick google, I found this site that has a similar thread going for Wii games. It in fact is a website dedicated to disabled gamers. I might assume this is the same website Captainff may have been referring to.

I've had a response from the friend .. .. .. .. he started it about a year ago in repsonse to a similar request from a father who's daughter has limited use of her left hand. It was never finished unfortunately and not kept updated. However he has promised to send me a copy of the list he compiled so as soon as he does I will post it or a link to it.

It wasn't .. .. .. but that looks like a useful resource though. Nice find.
This thread http://www.accessibility.nl/games/fo...pic.php?id=673 is partitcularly relevant to you efcmark. Hope that it helps you get the most out of your Wii.

You can play Super smash bros. brawl with only the wiimote- but it does require you to press a lot of buttons, and im guessing with one hand that wouldn't be so easy. Umm, oh, on the virtual CONSOLE you can get the original Legend of zelda, witch only uses the wiimote, and the buttons are basic. Hope that helps.

The new Midnight Pool game for WiiWare should only need the remote. Also, point-and-click adventures like Strong Bad (WiiWare) and Sam & Max only need the remote.
Anyone know if a second hand is needed for Link's Crossbow Training or Wild West Guns? You could probably check out on-rails shooters too, such as Resident Evil:Umbrella Chronicles and House of the Dead.

Many thanks everyone............Naturestee......what are "on-rails shooters" ? I really enjoy the basic shooter type arcade/Wii Play games....simple but satisfying ! The few ive tried seemed ok with one hand and ive made copious notes of the thread above......but still keen on any advice from Wii gamers out there.
cheers and thanks....Mark
