Nintendo Skips E for All

tarting it's second appearence from early October, LA's E for All games convention is the little brother of sorts to the former, great E3 (the current E3 as we know it is now a mere press event). Alas, in typical Nintendo fashion, the Big N has decided to pass on E for All, meaning they'll have no executive presence on the show floor.

However, that's not to say that Nintendo's products will be sailing straight past LA. Charlotte McCormack, of the IDG World Expo group elaborates:

"Nintendo's products will be playable and sold through the Target store at E for All, so our attendees will have access to Nintendo's great games and hardware. In fact, the Target store at E for All Expo will have many of the most popular and hard-to-find Nintendo games, hardware and accessories available. We are very excited about this opportunity for attendees -- whether it's Madden '09 or the Nintendo Wii, the Target Store at E for All will be stocked."

So while we can ceratinly write off any chances of new first party games being announced, there is a possibility that a few titles may crop up on the show floor. Anyone up for some Disaster?

i would only be interested if they let HVS show off the new build for conduit or they plan to announce new titles in the existing franchises like starfox, f zero

Games will still be there though, just not Nintendo themselves. I was hoping Disaster would be shown and it may still.

Plus we already knew Nintendo themselves had nothing else to show as games are currently being worked on at the moment, it shouldn't have been too surprising to people.

Brandon, after the backlash of E3 Nintendo may have to show some of their stuff earlier than they wanted to.

Yeah, it kinda does.

What else is new? Nintendo has dropped out on a couple of gaming conventions before this. I've learned to not expect much from Nintendo since E3.

without going into other things, no it doesnt because i am not interested in the topic at hand which is "nintendo not attending e for all". i commented on it to share my opinions

I don't think the backlash bothers them though clearly, they are content with Animal Crossing and third party support at the moment. If things weren't ready at E3 I don't think they would have been shown later this year anyways.

No, they were bothered. The backlash forced a multibillion dollar company to stand up and apologise to its fans for bad decisions.

There are too many gaming events. E3, E For All, PAX, Comic Con, Leipzig(??), and many more. This puts a strain on game companies, and the press. We don't need a press event once per month for minute amounts of information. Cut them down to 1-2 per year. At the same time I'd rather have companies individually host their own events like Blizzcon.

Gaming events aren't that hard pushing for companies and as for Nintendo...

who only turn up to E3! The others, they'll give one or two half assed stalls.

Stalls can cost anywhere from $10,000 to $200,000. It also costs money to put people out at the event. On top of that they need someone to run the demo. Minimum they have 5 employees attending the event. It's a strain when they are doing this every month.

Yet microsoft, sony, ea, activison etc. manage it...despite not earning as much as Nintendo...

From what I remember they were top by triple the amount of 2nd which was possibly Activision (Profits since this generation began)

nintendo is doing a great job but i will always want more.

i want them at every event!

but really its 3rd parties who need to have their own booths.

but nintendo should have a booth for a game or two.

Well it's no surprise that Nintendo won't be appearing. All they've got this year basically is Animal Crossing and some forgettable third party games IMO. It's disappointing for me to see this, because Sony and Microsoft are bringing games like Gears 2, LittleBigPlanet, and Resistance 2.

I wish The Conduit was coming out a bit earlier... I just hope that game is as good as people are making it out to be.

i doubt money is really the issue
