While I waited for the Wii to be released on the 8th of Dec I played on my 360 and also researched different things about the Wii as well as watch video's to do with the Wii's in the US

I am trying to help another member by compiling a way to identify the region of a console from the outside.
Don't be dumb, the first 2 characters are always the same for your region so there is no personal information being divulged

So far I know the following prefixes
LE = Europe
LU = United States
LJ = Japan

... I asked because I didn't want a guess. I already guessed that LA either stands for Australia or for Asia as a whole not including Japan.

Help owners identify the region of a console without needing to power it? It is extremely common in many Asian countries to get random region consoles with mod chips installed. Sometimes you can even choose which region you want (the shop carries them all). In the past with other consoles this wasnt an issue but with games like SPM containing 2.1 firmware and Strikers containing 2.2 with the ability to brick your Wii its important. The screwed part is that its possible for an NTSC game to brick another NTSC console if the regions don't match and the disc has a later firmware update than the system.

Stop being a butthead and help me confirm the serial prefix. How would you like if you legally imported a game from Japan or US and it broke your Wii? It is completely legal under Australia law to install a modchip in a Wii and import games and yet totally possible to render the Wii unplayable doing so. This is whats happening to people around the world at this very moment because Nintendo doesnt check the file system before deleting files and fuxoring the OS.

Well it's not my fault that they get games imported. I don't even know where that prefix thing is because I'm a dickhead and not a butthead.
Cool DL! So that means it toook about two working days right? Anyways, hope you enjoy it...when the Micro SD comes that is.

Anyhoo I also got a $3.00 Screen protector with my R4...was in Japanese so couldn't understand it and well I kind of bodged up the second one....then my brothe noticed this big air bubble on the first one I put down and when I peeled it back a bit of dust got under and now there ruined

so a waste of $3.00
