I am now halfway through galaxy the second time but now i stopped because i recently got orange box. Its bloody awesome, even on the lowest settings in everything [thanks to my trusty notebook]. Half-Life 2 and Portal for the win!
But now is the time for me to get a new notebook and i have 2 choices [3 actually but who cares]
HP Compaq 6910p Excellant notebook processor Core 2 duo 2.4GHZ and a class 3 graphics card ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 - 128 MB. It will be a decent upgrade from my other laptop and ill be able to use HDR in HL2-Lost Coast. The fingerprint scanner and extremily sturdy casing is a great bonus. $3,300
MacBook Same processor but with 2GHZ in the up-end model and a class 5 graphics card Intel GMA 950. Its almost a downgrade from my current [and unrepairable] laptop however it is faster and has the extra OS [10.5 leapord] so synching my ipod will FINALLY be an simple task. However due to the unbearable crappy graphics card, i wont even be able to play the original Half-Life. Even running project64 will be a problem. $2,600
Save your income for a macbook pro. My brother got one the other day (he didn't have to pay for it ) and it is insane! He put windows on their for the games, not that he plays them that often anyway, but OSX is freakin awesome.
By the way, orange box... any good?'
EDIT: double post

ORANGE BOX IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!
Best value you'll ever get...
MacBook Pro's are good especially with I thinks it's Leopard? Because then you have bootcamp which can run windows, but as you said, save up your money...because for one of them it's alot! Especially if you want lots of RAM and Hard Drive and stuff...Thanks Yeungy for that link...that's cool....kinda, I got a GH one yesterday on the net...IT WAS CRAP!

So errmmm...back to Wii news. Does anyone else go into a games store and think "wow, the Wii's lineup is already starting to look like Gamecube's?"
There is soo much crap out on it that I'd never touch let alone rent...
yeh deanis i know where you are coming from.
there is a lot of crap out there at the moment but still some absolute cracking games on the way that you all know what they are.
for the first time in a long time im going to get a mario game, havent bought one since super mario bros 3. its been too long mario!
Yeah, true, there are a lot of crappy games. But that said, I was looking at PS2 games and I saw quite a few that I wouldn't want to even touch. Not that I would touch a 'good' PS2 game either. But then - Wii really needs to hurry up with the release of its good games. I really want SSBB and Mario Kart!
Oh there was a hell of a lot of PS3 games I wouldnt consider either. Just saying that this year really has brought some below par Wii games: Kororinpa, all those movie tie-ins, GT Pro...the list goes on.
Still I only buy the good stuff.
I haven't seen any PS3 games! Sure, I haven't gone in EB Games lately - or when I do, it's like a quick dash in before I turn and flee (because that's totally not suspicious looking). Like when the PS3 first came out I glanced at the price and the little 7 year old kid standing next to it screaming 'I WANT! I WANT!'
But since then, the PS3 section at Big W hasn't really grown - although the PS2 section is still huge. I thought that maybe the Wii must have been doing good, as it's section had expanded - but only to make room for the amount of crappy games they have out.
Deanis Kororinpa is an alright game, its the best of the worst I guess. At least Kororinpa isn't another mini game fest. Out of all the minigame compilations Warioware is probabbly the best, and unless it can match up to the insaness (?word?) that is Warioware I ain't buying.
I made a discovery just now and almost died (of laughter) there is a game that apperntly exsist called Asterix at the Olympic Games.....yes Asterx......and yes the Olympic Games......why does this sound familiar? Now wait here's an interesting quote:

Is he serious? he has to be joking...... and just to clear something up this game is a tie-in to a movie which is a tie-in to the awesome comic book.Well I dunno where I was going with that but well to sumarize its ...another.....one of them gaaahhhh
ive seen an asterix and oberlix (?) movie on world movies on foxtel, it um...sucked! and was in german.
but hey, if it sells then why not keep making it?
i keep buying crappy spider-man games but that is only cause im a massive fan.
We had an Asterix game on our Sega Master System...was absolutely brilliant, one of the most fun platformers I've ever played, the characters had unique attributes, the levels were fun, so there you go, movie/book/comic tie-ins CAN work, and sell. But the ones on Wii just suck, and are all last minute cash-ins. I'm sure 2008 will have more quality.
OMG I haven't posted on this page yet! Not much to say really, IGN Australia's best reviewed game this year was Super Mario Galaxy. Speaking of which I am now up to 86 stars in Galaxy, I'm pacing myself.
Edit - Looks like I'm starting this page off instead.
