Yep, I studied Japanese in yr 8, 9, 10, and 11. I had to give it up by Yr 12. Distance Ed learning a language is FAR to difficult. Interestly, I am doing Uni this semester by Distance Ed and already it's much easier then Japanese was.
Seriously, I'd ring up my Japanese teacher for help, she wouldn't help AT ALL. So I'd ask the Japanese teacher at my school, he'd give me the answer and she would mark it as wrong! Would it really have killed her to help me? It's not like I asked the Distance Ed one to just give me an answer I could write down. I'd ask her for help on what sentence ending I needed, and what tense I needed etc.
It wasn't like I simply said "Say, how do I write 'Meet me at the beach at 2:35 and we can go swimming around the bay'". And then wrote down exactly what she said and submitted that for marking. Oh no, I just wanted to check things like the 'and' and if in Japanese the 'meet me' part came first or not. You know, things like that. Difficult to explain really. But oh no, god forbid she helped. 'Cause isn't that what she's there for? Or was I expected to just throw anything on paper and wait the two weeks it took for it to be mailed to her and returned to me?

i did japanese at high school. dont remember anything of it tho.
all the japanese i know now is the terms for high punch, low punch, upper block , inner block , outer block, kick, bow, ready, stop etc etc.
(karate terms in other words)

Hmm goddamn. Some of Splendour is set to play until 2 am. WTF? Everyone says Midnight, yet it clearly says on the schedule 2am for one particular tent. Stupid people.
