Looking at the list of movies I've got down as 'For Christmas' either to buy myself, or instruct people to buy for me, you'd think I have some kind of obsession with mafia movies.

Hmm maybe I do. But at least I'm not like those gangsta kids. And at least it distracts me from Gary Oldman for a while. Oh wait. Not anymore. I just reminded myself I need a few Gary Oldman films added to that list.

AND I need to do something about my DVD shelf. I'm running out of room. I need to get another shelf. Hmm I need to work this out - particularly if I'm going to get like 20 more DVDs at Christmas time. If I was still at High School I'd make myself another shelf (literally means I'll ask my teacher to make one while I stand pathetically at the bandsaw saying I'm scared).

LOL... DVD racks are the way to go.
I just bought a new one for my growing PS3 and BluRay collection, to discover theyre smaller than DVDs....I'm an idiot.

I'm going to buy a whole heap of DVDs and then decide I want to join BluRay. But at the moment I can't though. Give it a year though...

Now, I have The Shining on that list (hopefully will watch sometime before Xmas), a whole heap of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro films - two guess what they are about, and Gary Oldman films. Add in The Dark Knight and Iron Man when they are released, is there some kind of other uber cool movie I'm forgetting about? I am sure there's another movie (or actor even) that I've rambled about how cool they are. I just know there is something I am meant to be watching. But nyeeh. I've randomely searched through JB HI FI and can't find it. And HOPEFULLY the JB HI FI will be OPEN sometime before Christmas.

Yeah good move not to choose BluRay yet..theyre too damn expensive.

$45 for a blu Ray. OR $60 for 5 DVDs...

Blueray still isn't worth the step, it's too darn expensive. HD is plenty fine for me.

When DVD were the new hot thing, I remember each DVD cost like $40. Sure, that was the price of a new, 2 disc DVD. I remember the first DVD I ever bought was the Blackadder set - which fortunately I could only find in DVD format.

But yeah, if I ever decide to do BluRay I will be waiting at least a year. Maybe more. When they are reasonably priced I might consider it.

I haven't actually seen any BluRay, but everyone says how great it is. So being the sheep I am, I believe people.

And I try and take good are of my DVDs, it's just my brothers don't give a damn about my DVDs.

OMG I know! Why's it so hard to remember to put DVDs back in their cases and not on the floor?
Also, using them as coasters and bookmarks are big nonos as well.

Yeah, I know. it's not hard. I've had my brothers return DVDs without remembering to put it back in the case! That said, they've also returned hired DVDs without the actual DVD inside. So I'm not the only person they've done it too.

Haha... apparently BluRays are stronger, a good thing to keep in mind if your bros use them as frisbees and coasters.

Blu-Rays are only better on Full-HD TVs, mainly cos DVDs look so damn bad on them.
Also because they hold so much more, they can really pack out the extra features. If you get a double Blu-Ray pack, like Pirates of Caribbean, there is SO much crap to look at.

Not to mention keira knightley in Full HD=epic WIN

Ha, I hardly EVER look at DVD special features. I looked at the Pirates of the Caribbean one because I was obsessed with Johnny Depp at the time.

Keep in mind, 1 bluray could preobably hold thae size of 6 DVDs in the first place or more so...Really depends on the movie. And yes they're more durable, but I think that there will be a jump from bluray to holographic.

The only Brad Pitt movie I have is Troy, and that's only because of Eric Bana. Otherwise I wouldn't let Brad Pitt anywhere near my DVD collection.

And I certainly won't be letting Interview With the Vampire anywhere near it. Tom Cruise AND Brad Pitt? No thanks. Plus, did they sparkle? I don't think so. Everyone knows REAL vampires sparkle in the sun.
