Well there is proof that the Earth has been around for 4.54 Billion years. I'm not sure what evidence there is for the formation of the moon being approximately 4.527 billion years ago, but that's probably because I haven't read much about it.

Well not really. The technique has been fine tuned for the past 50 years.

Yes, there were many more celestial bodies 4 billion years ago as to what there is today, and all were mixing and matching and crashing as time went on as each interrupted the others gravitational pull. The moon used to be a part of the earth, but (I think this is what one of the theories is) Saturn and Jupiter were so close together back then they disrupted eachothers rotations and it is thought that some planets may have chnaged places and asteroids from the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter were flung off with all this crazy shit happened....And I don't know where I'm going with this, I haven't done any work today...SHIT!

Wow Petey, your answers were all exactly what I'd have said.

The Big Bang theory is just a theory, just like creationism, etc. We can't prove it yet. There have been discoveries which aren't consistent with the idea of creationism. The Big Bang theory seems now to provide the answer for how we came into being. Of course, we could be totally wrong, but it's the most plausible theory at this time.
