oceanic: i got to wait untill the brother is off the wii..... dam i knew i shouldnt of let him get on the thing!

Dont get me wrong, over all my gaming consoles, I've probably had about 50 games (although i've sold some). I've had SNES, 64, GC (i found no need for my GC so traded it in for a CC for my wii ) and i have a PS2 and obviously a Wii. Currently i have 15 wii games, 5 PS2 games and 3 wii games and adding the ones i had from 64 and SNES, they soon add up!
One of the benifits of being an only child is the sole use of my wii for me

Just heard that I was working at Double Time and a Half! Which is good. I was happy with Double Time. The Half only makes it even better! It is strange though, although I haven't work a public holiday since Easter last year, it has always been just Double Time. Oh! I was so annoyed on Easter. I worked NINE hours on Easter Sunday! The public holidays were like, Friday, Saturday, and Monday!
And did anyone notice my page claim?

That extra half makes all the difference! You had to work on Easter Sunday coles isn't even open then, and even if it was, i'm too old and cost them too much to give me 9 hours on a public holiday!

Or, you simply don't ALLOW people to use your Wii. Or you can be nice. Let them use it. Kick them off the minute you want it. Thats what I do. Perhaps I'm just mean?
And... (unless I'm seeing things) my page claim was on the other page... Just like Oceanic got the page claim above me...

*shakes fist at coles and woolies* we are older and thus have more experince and can do your jobs better. Therefore, we'll be giving them more bang for their buck, making employing us on public holidays cheaper in the long run......................
Now try telling them that!

Woolies, or at least mine (I'm in a touristy town) is open every day of the year except Christmas Day. I was stupid enough to start working at Woolies during Christmas Holidays. After finishing Year 10 I had all those weeks... you know, and managed to get interviews and inductions done just in time for the holidays... It was horrible. I had a bloody TRAINING sign up and some idiot abused me.

I consider myself a very good check-out chick. My "personality" and "people skills" aren't so good. BUT I am really really fast. When I want to be. Generally around close. Many people have marvelled at my quickness. See, it saves me having to talk to them if I get them done quickly. Which means, I don't need a personality.
My only problem is, I get really annoyed when customers come to get served by me.

I'm much the same, except I'm a checkout-chap! If people come to me on purpose or if the piss me off, i slow down my scanning, just enough that it pisses them off, but not too much so that they say something. I love watching customers squirm, it makes the job just that little bit interesting. I also love messing around with the walkie talkies (our intercom thingy is broken and we have those in the interium) I go to channel 37 when it's night and there's some guy that is either high or drunk singing random things and talking about random stuff..just great!

Some customer came up to me today and said "happy australia day", only problem was I thought he said happy shirley day. I kinda blinked and said 'yeah right'. I worked it out eventually... I am terrible with accents. Someone asked for 'Filters' once, Had NO idea what they were talking about. All I knew was it was something to do with the smokeshop. I was suggesting 'paper? lighters? tobacco?' Everything BUT Filters. Like I said, terrible with accents.
And OOOOh I was soo annoyed. I lost all my progress on Zelda. I knew I would. I just hoped... But I did. The New Wii. I was up to the Ice/Water Temple... and all gone.

Oh the thing I love doing is saying "we don't give out plastic bags for three items or less"
I get such satisfaction out of it! Because it annoys them. Sometimes they steal them while I'm turned away to put cash in. I don't stop them. I could. But since they waited until I wasn't in a position to defend them (and I will) I let them go. They look at all the plastic bags I have, and kinda glare the leave.
I HATE the intercom. Someone asked me to pick the phone up once. I didn't. I squeaked and made someone else do it. People actually get excited over the closing calls. I don't. But, at the moment it sounds retarded. The supervisor that did it tonight, I did not catch a word of what he said.

And yeah - Oceanic, I got a new Wii. My last one broke. Some crappy stuff with the Wii Remote. I decided to return the whole thing, nobody was quite sure if it was just the remote, or the senor bar. Or what. The chick at Big W had no idea.

do you guys still go to school? or are you uni-bums like the so many others that i know .
working fulltime has its advantages ( re : $400 for a 19yo on junior wadges) but it also has its disadvantages ( no life, and comming home wanting to sleep).
when you guys finish school/uni or hit 18 ( if not already) go out to the mines ! a co-workers brother works out there.. $1200 in hand for driving a water truck around, i could do that

Our policy is we dont offer plastic bags for two items or less, but if they ask for one we have to give it to them, I'm just waiting for the day when they have to buy plastic bags, that'll wipe that smirk right off their faces!

I'm a uni-bum, although my degree involves very little bumming I'm doing a Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering degree and a Science degree majoring in Maths. Yes, i AM a freak :P But hey, i enjoy it. I only do about 10 hours a week work, I simply dont have the time during semester.
Oh yeah, and this is my second year this year, cant wait to go back in about a month!
