I actually like the books school has made me read, particularly lately. If it wasn't for school, I'd have no exposure to Shakespeare. Shakespeare is goooood. And just classics like "To Kill a Mockingbird", "The Girl With the Pearl Earring", and even "Perfume" and "Atonement". Good stuff.

Eeek. Shakespeare is horrible.
HORRIBLE!
... I wish school didn't expose me to it. Or if I had to - which it did - I wish it did it in better ways. Reading Shakespeare sucks. Shakespeare is meant to be performed, not read in a classroom. Shakespeare was great when I finally got to see a play. But the school didn't do that enough. And of course, I still had to read it.

Oh, I hated reading Macbeth. But about half-way through the teacher got the ingenious idea to get us to read it aloud, with a person per character per scene. It's how I did Romeo and Juliet, too, and it's how I'll do Othello next year.
I seriously love Shakespeare.

When I read Macbeth we had to read it outloud. But it's not exactly "fun" when people are either not interested, or they just can't read, or they take forever reading it.
Oh, but it was funny - although not really productive - when they decided to read it in Scottish accents, and badly done ones at that.
But oh, the Macbeth play I was reading had beautiful illustrations to accompany it. The one with Macbeth's head on a pike was awesome.

Shakespeare never really thrilled me I have to say. Being performed it's better, but the language really doesn't do it for me in this day and age.

My favorite Vampire book is easily The Historian.
Twilight is good, but it just doesn't compare.

Well, of the 580 pages I think a good amount has been devoted to pron and Asian women.
So really, a small conversation about books and the Government isn't so bad.
