Hello,
The first time I installed the wii console I accessed to wii setting screen and I could configure time, date, adjust sensor bar.
Now I want to configure the internet connection but I can not access to wii setting screen.
I go to wii button at the left, then to wii setting; but when I click to wii setting button, a screen appears telling me that a URL page is not found I have to refer to internet page names Opera's help.
Anyeone could help me?.
Thanks.

Hmmm.. This certainly isn't normal. How long has this happened since you bought your Wii? Has anything traumatic happened to it?

I don't see burned games causing any hardware problems. It's a very small possibility, but I highly doubt it.

Considering it's only been 3 months, do you have a warranty? If the problem is worth using the warranty to you, then by all means do so. The real problem I see is that using burned games may break the warranty, I'm not sure however.

Well, seeing as you use burnt games you don't deserve the internet on there.

Do you have a place to connect it to? W WiFi USB connector? LAN? Or a wireless router?

Yes that's the problem. You did a system update on your chipped Wii from a disc that was from a different region as the Wii itself. Hope it was fun while it lasted. Next time don't mod your console to steal games.

Sorry, I do not understand. You said that the problem is because I played burnt games?. I have original games but in order to avoid the kids damaged them I burnt them. I really dont know the regions of the games.
Is it possible to reset the console or something like that to acces the config menu again?
Thanks

...right. Kids.

Look, we've all heard the "stories". It doesn't fly here.

You can't play burnt games without a modded Wii. So right off the bat, you're admitting someone without the proper skills performed an unsupported hardware modification on an extremely delicate and ESD-sensitive electronic device. A lot of times that results in an unstable device right there, due to latent ESD damage.

And the chances that you really went through all that hassle just so you could "back up your own games" is basically zero. Meanwhile, 99.99% of the time, the exact symptoms you describe are from someone with a chipped Wii running a downloaded and burnt game from outside their own region which contains a firmware update. The wrong firmware gets loaded on the Wii, and bam... the exact symptoms you describe.

Just suck it up, learn your lesson, buy a new Wii and stop pirating games.

The short answer is that your Wii was illegally modified and now it's wrecked because of it.

Its so funny reading sremick and skippy!!!
Dont listen to them heredu , they are only assholes stupid enough to buy their original games 60$ each lolll
For your wii settings problem, just look on the web for a game (of your region) that has the latest update for your wii (3.2 at this time) and either download it or rent it (loll) and itll fix it.
Hope this was helpfull

Well you can auctually fix your wii. Check out this post:
http://hackmii.com/2008/05/semi-brick-fix-discs/

If that still doesnt fix it then you can use this program. It lets you use most of the wii settings through the homebrew channel.
http://www5.atpages.jp/wiihack/tool/WiiConfig_v1.0.zip

To find out how to install the homebrew channel and use it, go here.
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Channel

Let me know if any of this helps =)

As a software developer I depend on my job for making my house payment, car payment, buying food, clothes, etc. If people steal the software I help make, it results in lower sales which threatens my job and livelihood for my family.

And also, as a Nintendo shareholder, you're also hurting my investment which is directly tied to my retirement.

So piracy could put me out of a job now and reduce my retirement funds in the future.

When you grow up and enter the real world, maybe you'll have a better grasp of how your actions can affect others.

Well said. I work in the software industry as well so I also have a reaction to the pirating issue. When I was a kid I pirated games like crazy. Now I understand how the world works and realize it's not a "no victim" crime.

Nothing I've said was "false information". Game piracy is illegal and advocating it is not allowed on these forums. You were reported to the moderators who run things here.
