Wii Sucessor Due by 2011?

personally as long as i can keep my downloads, data, channels, and Miis i'm all for it. needless to say i'll probly have to getta SD card to transfer the data =/ also they better have the latest flash player this time. i cant even watch 3 min of a 93 min movie of megavideo x_x tho thats probly just due to my 2 bars of wi-fi =/

dunno if id waste my money, if nintendo keeps going the way its going (treating its hardcore older audience like dirt and as if we dont matter) then ill be long done with them by time its out

This may come as a surprise to you, but Nintendo isn't the only game developer making games for the Wii.

Nintendo makes the console, and happens to make some games for it too. But the majority of responsibility for making games falls on the other game developers. Nintendo has their own focus, but due to the existence of dozens of other game developers, that (the style of game that Nintendo tends to make) doesn't inherently limit the Wii. If the overall game selection for the Wii doesn't satisfy you, your gripe is with all developers, not just Nintendo (who one wouldn't expect to make "hardcore" games anyhow).

The Wii is a versatile piece of hardware. There's nothing about it preventing the numerous game developers from making any sort of game you like. Take it up with them... don't drop it all at Nintendo's feet.

100% agree nintendo has been spitting out many games that i love
wii hasnt got nearly enough 3rd party support as we deserve

btw like a year ago or something i saw on wikipedia that Nexon is working with Nintendo now and that there was (or is) a Maple Story DS and blah blah blah. wen exactly did they merge or w/e? and r there any Nexon games for Wii?

I heard that also, but heard nothing else about it afterwards. Im pretty sure that that is false.

eh they really wont hunt you down, they make no attempt to keep or regain there hardcore audiences,

and i wasnt saying nintendos games are crap, they are good Metroid probably the best as it was actually challenging at parts.

the rest are kids stuff (DONT DENY IT) smash bros and Mario galaxy were both way kiddified made way to easy.

And i didnt say any 3rd party stuff was all bad, out of the 300 odd, there is about 20 decent ones, god Residient evil 4 made it into my top 10 games of all time.

But nintendo dont give 2 shits about us "hardcore gamers" They only came up woith a storage solution when it became a problem for The Casual Gamers, We ssaid OVER AND OVER AND OVER again to nintendo its a problem they said, transfer it to sd cards its really not hard.

But the second casual gamers started to reach the storage max it became a problem in nintendos eye,

Plus they treat us all like kids, Come on voice text and decent online should have been from the off, i wouldnt habve minded them putting strict parental controlls and letting it be up to the parent, PASSWORDS is a word that comes to mind, the assume all parents want there kids to have no online communications, GOD DAM THEM, my parents LOVE the idea, of talking to others from around the world, @Nintendo can set me guidlines which i choose whether or not to follw (that would be fine) but Forcing me to follow there guidlines is Constricting us imo, and i hate them seriously, love the wii, and some of its games, HATE THE MAKERS, END OF. but i still love wichat, (except some mods)

Considering the booming sucess of casual games on the Wii i.e. Wii sports and Wii play. It is possible that after this new "Wii HD" rolls around we could still see these types of games being released for the original Wii. Plus the Wii will probably be $100 or less so casuals would gobble it up at even higher rates

Most of us won't even have the Nintendo Wii by then. I already had mine for 1 year. I barely play games on it. I think the Wii is perfect the way it is now. This would be pretty cool but as I said, Most of us won't have the Wii by then.

I'll welcome the arrival of the new system, just like I've welcomed the arrival of every new system since the 8bit era.

I'm really sick and tired of hearing this hardcore/casual gamer bellyaching. "Oh...they don't care for me any more...boo hoo". As it's been said before, the console maker doesn't do anything but make the console and a few games everyone once and a while. The 3rd party developers are the ones who don't care about you, because its THEY who choose not to put the awesome games on the Wii not nintendo. You think Nintendo is like "you got a cool game that everyone wants and will sell millions of copies? nah, we don't want that on our system. we'll stick with Spongebob and Bratz games" ? Get real.

maybe sum day they'll learn from kingdom heart and make a game with great graphics a story line/plot and sumwat challenging. plus truely utilizing the whole motion sensitive thing. Sonic Unleashed might b a good one for that but sonic games r usually pretty short and can b beaten with maybe a week or 2. plus it basicly looks like god of war for Wii only with sonic instead. for the werehog parts anyway. i am looking forward to the 2.5D view tho.

I'll pre-order the next Wii. Actually I'll pre-order 2 of them. And sell one on Ebay for 3 times the cost!

And. The next Wii is gonna rock the sales charts even more than the current one. If I were a stocks investor, Nintendo would be an excellent choice.

The next Wii is going to appeal even more to the hardcore gamer. If you disagree, check out the thread at the top of this post. Honestly, read it. It's a long read but its worth it.

Yeah thats good thinking, i wonder about this next console though, is it gonna stay motion sense? or are they gonna switch to a classic controller with some motions. these are the questions that boggle me...
