You really don't get the point, do you? Controllers are meant to keep things simple. A universal controller to play all the games on one system.

This video explains the relationship between the player and the controller.

When the NES came up, there was all sorts of accessories out for the device.
Pt1
Pt2

Ultimately to be said, try to keep as few devices you need. You should not have a bunch of wacky devices. Keep it to a few things.

So far as for controllers and peripherals:
-Wii Remote
-Wii Remote + Nunchuck
-Wii Balance Board
-Wii Speak
-Wii Motion Plus
-Classic Controller
-Gamecube Controller
-Wii steering wheels
-Sensor Bars
-Wii Gun Casing
-Fishing Rod
-Guitars
-Drum Set
-Microphone
-Pool Stick
-Boxing Gloves
-Tennis Racket Attachment
-Baseball Bat Attachment
-Golf Club Attachment
-Cooking Mama Attachments
-Sword Attachment
-Shield Attachment
-Billiards Cue Stick Attachments
-Surgeon Tool attachments
-Dancing Mat

Do us a favor and quit asking for a new glove. It is probably going to be another crappy attachment used for milking us for more money. We need better software, not more attachments.

I think they've already revealed their direction with MotionPlus. Expect the next Nintendo console to incorporate gyroscopes as well as accelerometers for even more-accurate 1:1 motion mapping.

All the ones I highlighted in red are just Wii remote "shells" and not legitimate full-blown peripherals. And only the guitar has any real usefulness or value.

The novelty of the motion sensors has warn off. People just want some solid software at this point. On a score to score basis, a lot of the virtual console are doing far better than the current games out. That is a joke. Basically this is saying that they cannot do better than what others have done over eight years ago. Although it seems that new software that may seem promising but only time can tell us that.

Hmmmmmmm I wish I would see a merger or partnership with Apple and Nintendo before 2011. I mean perfect fair. The enemy of my enemy is my friend deal. They both hate Microsoft. Apple wants games and Nintendo can supply that. Their machines are usually very pretty looking. They both like touch screens (iTouch-DS) I think it could work. Also if we see Apple and Nintendo get together it can open a whole to world to Music and Entertainment for the wii. I mean iTunes! ZOMG

But it's never gonna happen D:

Right, because posting console sales facts makes me a "fanboy".

Are you utterly oblivious to the nature of the forum that you're posting to? If you don't like the Wii, then I suggest finding another website to troll on.

Actually it does make you a fanboy. You are pointing out how great the console is based on sales. That is not the point of the video game console. People are suppose to be having fun playing software. I am not concerned about the financial aspects point of the video games (with some exceptions. The history of video games is compelling to learn about. Financial becomes an issue in this cases). We are suppose to be primarily consumers. I didn't fall in love with Nintendo because they made money. They made kick-ass games that others failed to imitate.

Console figures mean squat in my opinion. Lets take a bit of retrospective look on nintendo's previous systems.

Nintendo 64

Statistics and information
-Some of the worst good to bad game ratios
-Limited Hardware to work on
-High Cost Production for games
-Low Memory storage
So based on this information, That would mean the Nintendo 64 was an epic fail no?

Software

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time- Considered the one of the best games ever made, if not the best game of all time.

Super Mario 64- Before this game, 2D platformers and 3D kind of mingled along with players having preferences between the two. Super Mario 64 demonstrated how platformers in 3D should be designed, ultimately leaving 2D platformers in the dust.

Golden Eye 007- Simply awesome. Where the id software was renown for their FPS, this Golden Eye was only flawed with the lack of online multiplayer support. Even at that, the multiplayer for this game was amazing and superior to what id has developed, forcing id to make their absolute multiplayer oriented game, Quake 3 Arena. The quality of Golden Eye demonstrated how multiplayer gaming should be done. Before this game, it tended to be mediocre. This was of course at the time when Rare was Nintendo's 2nd party developer.

Gamecube
While the Gamecube addressed a lot of the issues that Nintendo had with the Nintendo 64, it still ran into some problems.

Statistics and information
-Lack of Strong Online Support (The Dreamcast standardized it, The Xbox improved it and centralized it and The Playstation attempted competition in online gaming)
-Small Disc Size (Basically a mini-DVD that contains 1.5 Gigabytes of storage)

Software
-Metroid Prime- If you didn't have a Gamecube, this game was more than enough of a reason to buy a Gamecube. This game also blows the whole 1.5 Gigabytes limitations out of the water. It even proved the full power graphical power of the Gamecube.
-Soul Caliber II- While this game was out on the Gamecube, Xbox and the Playstation 2, it did far better on the gamecube. It was simply Superior. The controls were fluid and just felt right.
-Legend of Zelda: Windwaker- While criticized for cel shading for being a hit and miss, this game created a scenario that brought a fresh scene to the series.

Nintendo Portable Systems
Always done right.

My point over all is that sales aren't the issue here at hand. You just praised Nintendo for being commercially successful. That is all you really did. It doesn't try to bring in how they do as trying to support consumers of their consoles (While they are doing that, they are doing towards a group of audiences). The point of video game consoles is to play video games.

As for the nature of this forum, I do believe the nature of this forum is discussion about the Wii which I have upheld while being here. There is no sign around here saying "FANBOYS ONLY" when in fact iOn himself welcomes owners of all consoles to this site. While it is specifically geared to the Wii, it is for a slightly broader audience then just Fanboys.

As for stating a dislike to the Wii, I never said I dislike the Wii. That is your own mistake in misinterpretation. I was criticizing it for the lack of strong software, not the Wii itself.

Also, do me a favor keep the flaming to yourself. You shouldn't go about insulting people on the forums because they don't speak in a way that suits your Holy Crusade in the console wars. Some of use do enjoy speaking with other members of the forums about the wii and hopeful upcoming releases of new games.

Wow. Way to run off for pages in left field. That's not what I said at all.

Somehow, in the course of about 4 posts, you totally lost track of what you yourself said, that I then responded to. Let me run an instant-replay for you:

You claim the novelty of the motion sensors has worn off.

I say it hasn't, as evidenced by incredible sales. I provide a link with sales data.

Lacking any response to counter raw facts, you "sigh" and call me a "fanboy".

I point out that supplying sales numbers (to prove the novelty has not worn off) doesn't make me a "fanboy".

You misread me entirely and pounce on the perceived opportunity to rant for pages about how I view the Wii as the holy second coming and THE GREATEST CONSOLE EVARRR!!!!111 or something.

How about coming back down to earth for a minute and instead of putting words in my mouth and firing off like some loose cannon, you get back to the original point:

The "novelty" of the Wii's motion controls has obviously not "worn off" as proven by the ridiculous sales figures it continues to see. Savvy?

You can't say sales figures mean "squat" when they clearly mean a lot, and especially were the whole point of the topic. I'm sorry that because the "novelty" of the motion controls has worn off for you, that obviously the rest of the consumers around the world don't share your same views. You may be hurt by this fact, but my job isn't to protect your feelings.

And way to be a hypocrite, accusing me of flaming and then a few words later talk about some supposed "Holy Crusade in the console wars". Please direct me to my apparently countless posts where I bash other consoles. Thanks.

Did I run over your dog or something?
