It is a large number, yes, but it is not the majority. Nintendo attracts a significantly larger number of females with their consoles than does any other major gaming companies.
If I misunderstood this thread and you're trying to poll WiiChat, you will not achieve an appropriate representation, perhaps because females are less likely to be so concerned with gaming that they join a gaming forum.

I know more girls on Wii than other platforms - not that its saying much. In browsing titles, it seems like a lot of the games on Wii are "softer" games, better suited for youngsters and women.... less COD, Halo, L4D than on X360 and PS3.
Oh, and I'm a chick who plays Wii.
