I love my Wii and everything but I think its somewhat ridiculous that my Wii and pretty much everyone that owns a Wii is over 110 degrees when off! I left my Wii off for over 24 hours and it was still of when I did the test if your wondering. Also the blue light is on because it means I have a message the system is not on.

Also if you want to see a video I have it on my site

i wouldnt worry. most highend videocards in pc's can run up to 60*C (140*F) and still work fine.

Yeah, but 110 F sounds really high, so people are gonna freak out about it. Stupid people, that is.

well, it's in a standby mode, but its not quite the same as the standby folks are used to with computers. The Wii relies on completely passive cooling when in standby and 110 F = 43 is a very reasonable temperature.

Maybe this is why they say not to leave discs in the Wii while it's in standby. While it may not damage the Wii itself, that kind of heat for long periods of time can warp a disc.

Your Wii is in Standby, and not off. It's checking the internet for messages, that's why it's warm. BTW, my new Xbox 360 gets way hotter when on.

You can change the standby setting in the Wii settings.

Check out the thread I just posted - http://www.wiichat.com/nintendo-wii-...d-hot-wii.html

This doesn't really bother me. I am however, interested in that song in the video. I know it's a Mad World cover, but by who?

And if it does bother you, or anyone, just go to Wii Settings Page 2.

Set WiiConnect Standby Option to Off. The Power LED will turn red now when not on, and you won't get blue slot light message notification until you turn the console back on.

And your console temp will drop to about room temp.

BTW, if that's a new Core 2 Duo Macbook. Those conroes CPU's run very efficient.

They draw very little wattage for the performance they put out. They have logic gates that can be shut off when not in use to consume less energy and heat.

If your macbook had a graphics card similiar to the Wii, I'm sure it would be pretty warm also when on.

Nice toys though. I plan on getting a Macbook in early 2007 when they upgrade the OS.
