Terrible analogy. Ninendo is the company, not the name of the system. PS3 is not a better version of PS2. Its not a version of it at all. All they share is the word Playstation. There is not one piece of hardware that resembles the PS2 in the PS3. Vise versa with the 360. The only system that has hardware that resembles the older system is the Wii.
well the PS2's hardware resembled the PS1's and thats why they didnt need to use software emulation to play older games so by going by that theory, the PS2 isnt the same gen as xbox1 or GC. i believe the Wii is next gen but not GFX wise. it is a newer system that just happened to launch with the new generation so it should be catagorized next gen

Actually the PS2 had totally different hardware. They just stuck in the PS1 processor for backwards compatability.

So we have learned 2 things about this Lethal guy. First off, he has obviously not see the inside of a ps2/ps3/xbox or xbox360, because he has no idea what he is talking about. This fighting is useless. ALL THE NEW CONSOLES ARE NEXT GEN IN THEIR OWN WAY! There is no denying it. There isn't even a clear definition of what 'next gen' is. It's just the next generation of consoles... I meant that's pretty obvious... Nintendo has revolutionized gaming not through graphics but through gameplay. That's more than the other consoles can say. But, they do have better graphics/sound...
