Got mine this morning by pure chance at Wal-Mart in Winnipeg. I was at EB after waiting for a few hours before they opened. Their shipment came in and they had received 4 PS3s but no Wiis. Grabbed a nunchuck that had come in so I wouldn't have to hunt for one when I finally did get my console. The guy that was behind me in line had gone to check Wal-Mart just for the heck of it. He came back to EB (I had stayed to browse) and told me that Wal-Mart had gotten a shipment in and that I might get one if I hurried. So, I broke land speed records getting over there (and almost got run over in the process) and managed to get one of 3 that they had. Picked up a VC controller too. The remotes seem to be sold out everywhere though.
If the guy that tipped me off happens to read this, I could kiss....erm well, maybe not. But I truly do owe you a ton of thanks. I've been unhealthily obsessing about getting one of these things and can finally stop, thanks to you!
Hehe..as I type this, my wife is in the other room with the Wii, making Miis and cackling! :-)

Thanks! It's like a huge freaking weight....okay....a 10 pound box...has been lifted off my shoulders. Now the (massively less stressful) hunt for a second remote begins.

I got mine this past Sunday at Toys R Us. I started camping outside at midnight Saturday, I was 2nd in line. Got an extra Wiimote and Nunchuck, and $20 off Marvel Ultimate Alliance
I've been going crazy trying to find one the past month (came within 4 people ahead of me in line twice), glad it's over and now I can just enjoy it.
The store had 36 and it wasn't till about 6am that the line was big enough for them all to be accounted for, apparently EVERYONE was at Best Buy, even though they only had about 18.
Toys R Us seems to be the place to go, whenever I've heard of stores having big numbers, it's been Toys R Us. Couple weeks ago Circuit City and Best Buy had numbers in the teens, Toys R Us had 50.

Get my first post in here. Got mine on Ebay after getting shut out in the lines.
Got to play last night for a bit. Definitly met my expectations.
Been out of the gaming realm for a while, a little more interaction is just what I needed to get back into it.
Came with Zelda. will be playing that for a while I am sure.
Lets see what Nintendo has up their sleeve in the coming year.

My friend waited for me, since I could not wait, in line on Dec. 16th waiting for the Wii on the Dec 17th shipment. And he was first in line, and the person who waited for me was second. And the GameStop had eight of them, so I was so happy when I finally, after million tries, got a Wii!
Oh and I found out that those shipment had the newer version of wirst straps.

i called best buy today and they had a recording saying they did not know when there next shipment would be for wii and ps3 . when they do come in they are going to go on the shelves and it will be first come first serve.then i called toys r us and they said they had them so i rushed up there to get one they had atleast 15 i got one but i had to get bundle with 2 games and warranty of 2 years for 375. they got them in at 2:30 put them on the shelves at 3:30 i got there at 4:00 the only problem was that i left in such a hurry i forgot my wallet so my wife had to bring it up to me.about 5 more sold in the half hour i was there. they also had atleast 20 ps3 and only 1 sold while i was there.

HOLY CRAP I GOT MY WII FINALLY!!
I've attempted to obtain my Wii by waiting in Best Buy lines for 3 separate weeks now, to no avail.
My friend calls me up and goes 'yo, i quit gaming man. I'm selling my Wii.' and i JUMP on the opportunity! Don't ask me why he quit gaming, it's very complicated I'm sure, and was probably highly influenced by his parents.
Anyway, so to make it quick and short, my aforementioned friend's Wii was at his Father's workplace, for what reason i do not know, and his dad was in Saudi Arabia on a business trip, so there was no way for me to get the Wii until this monday, and i was totally fine with that.
only problem is that his dad's flight kept getting delayed, and so i thought i would have it monday, nope, tuesday, nope, wednesday? please? nope, sorry, Dad's still in saudi Arabia. THEN FINALLY! HE ARRIVED TODAY! Thursday December 21st (just in time for Christmas) and i went over, bought the goddamn thing. Got Zelda too!! HOLY CRAP.
doesn't sound like much, but damn it's been stressful, i must say, there's been tons of dumb crap happening inbetween all those weeks, but i'm to lazy to talk about it all.
point is, i have my Wii, and i cant wait till Christmas to play it! WIIIIIIII!!!

Someone returned theirs at the Wal Mart the other day when I got mine.
People waited in line, just in case I messed up my payment. People followed me around the store while I picked out games. Everyone was mad when I was handed my receipt.
Yes, I'm happy.

I got mine about 10 days ago on ebay. couldn't take the lines and let downs. I actually got it for retail price and that included the shipping. There are some great deals on ebay if you buy in bundles and not the console alone.

I was packing with my sister to go to the city to wait in line at TRU or BB when we stopped by her friends house and her dad recommended stopping at a Super Walmart in a smaller town on the way there that i never even called.
I said that they probably wont have them since its late in the day and all, but we decided to go there anyway, and i didnt see any there so i asked the employee if they had any and he said that he probably has like 3 in the back...
So he gets me a wii and i buy zelda, and i was stoked about the whole situation since i didnt have to wait in line, nor drive the whole two hours to the city and take a chance at waiting in line at TRU.
The feeling was even better than a preorder because i wasnt even expecting him to say they had some... im so happy now and ive been playing it the past several hours ^.^

Picked my Wii up from GameStation in Hamilton, just outside Glasgow, for £209.99 with Zelda and Wii Sports. My girlfriend and I were phoning every game store possible and we finally found "one" (which turned out to be TWENTY ONE) ... but it was only set aside for one hour, so the dash to get there and pick it up was a nightmare.
However, I'm now a happy Wii owner!

My wife and I finally got one on Tuesday morning. We knew one of the local Best Buys was releasing a shipment that day. We arrived around 4:00am. We were 17th in line. There must have been around 100 people in line when the BB rep came out at 7:00am and hand out vouchers. They had 21 systems. We made it! We bought Zelda, and had to search all over Memphis before finding an extra controller, nunchuk, and classic controller. We also bought Happy Feet, which my wife has already played to the finish!
I had some difficulty getting the internet connection working, but I've got that all straightened out now. What a fun system!

Did anyone else get owned by TRU today?I went at 4 AM and was the first in line, at 6:30 the manager says go home blah blah blah we dont have any, even though many TRU workers have claimed them to be in stock and even sold a few by accident, as well as the fact that thousands of Wiis were shipped nationwide ready to sell today
