ahh i finally got my wii, by extreme luck too. I hit up target at like 2 p.m, they had not gotten any since wensday, so i go in the car discouraged when my dad mentions we could try gamestop since it was on the way home, i knew i had no chance since by the time i got there itt was 2:45. I told the lady behind the counter, you guys dont have wiis, right?, and shes like yup we do, i got the last one out of three that had arrived at about 1, I am still stunned.

Got the third of three at EB games today. Called randomly, said they had two left and gave me a sarcastic "good luck" in response to me saying I was on my way. Two people asked if they had any in stock as he was getting mine from the back. . .

I reserved mine at a EB Games about a month before the launch. I was 2nd in line and there were 9 systems, so I thanked God that my alarm clock finally worked right and got me up that day. I picked it up Nov. 19th, but I had to wait til Christmas to open it up and play it. My mother threatened me not to open it or she would sell it on Ebay lol. But after waiting I'm glad to say that it is awesome. I love my Nintendo Wii.

I got a Wii! I just walked into my local Target and saw one in the secrurity case. I was like OMG!!! I asked the man "Is that an actual Wii Console?" he said "Yes, do you want it?" Saw I walked out with the Wii under my arm. Got home and it is awesome!

Yeah, I got one DBZ: Budokai: Tenkaichi 2 (the combat is actually very entertaining is your not a fan of the series) and Zelda: Twilight Princess. The whole thin is just awsome. Did I mention I just decided to call my local gamestop if they got any in and the guy said I just got 3 in, I rushed down to the mall, it took like 10 min. and he still had 2 left. I was the happiest person in the world at that moment I think...

I picked mine up on Wednesday! Walked into Best Buy pretty much resigned to not finding a Wii until some time after the new year, looking for something for my PSP when I saw them stocking the "cage" (they keep all the consoles locked up!) with brand new Wii's. I asked if they were for sale and when I got an affirmative, I immediately grabbed one along with Zelda and Metal Slug Anthology.

I had no luck finding extra controllers the rest of the week until tonight when I randomly stopped by my local Wal-Mart and saw that they had gotten restock. Picked up a second Wii-mote with Nunchuk, along with 2 classic controllers. Life is good!

After reading WiiChat for a few weeks, I FINALLY got a Wii!

Haha I found out about iTrackr, and it said I had a Target in my area that just got a shipment. Me and my Dad drove down to Target, and we asked the electronics guy about the Wii. He said that Best Buy down the street just got a shipment, and we and 5 other people drove as fast as we could down to Best Buy. They had 5 in the back.

Then we bought one.


My life is now complete.

First post! I got lucky and never had to stand in line to get one. I bought mine from Amazon.com by winning the chance to buy one from them when they had that thing going on! Came to the house on Dec. 22

Finally got my wii wednesday at Gamestop. I live in bay area.
Called them around 11.45am and asked for wii and she said they have 2 left out of 4 they received 30 mts back. Its 15 mts from my work and i was lucky to get the 3rd unit and 4th one was sold out next minute.

I finally got mine yesterday so I'm posting under this name instead of "wiihope" which is my other board name here which I used while finding it

I told the story in the "Search" thread but basically I ended up getting it at a GameStop as I was there when their UPS truck pulled up. This was after weeks of searching.

Here's my count:
Calls to stores: Maybe 4 (I didn't trust calling)
Visits to stores: Over 20 (Visited many locations more than once)
Types of stores visited: 1 Toys R Us, 1 Sears, 1 Kmart, 1 Frys, 1 Circuit City, 1 CompUSA, 2 Best Buys, 2 Walmarts, 3 Targets, 4 EB Games/Gamestops (I did a LOT of driving)

Today (12-30-06) I went to Best Buy, Circuit City, ToysRus, Ebgames, gamestop, target and my mom was out by Walmart and Sams club so she went in to see if they have any. And guess what.....NO WIIS!!!!

I'm so pissed off. But today was my first day doing this so I am going to hit up target tomorrow at 8am. Bestbuy at 10am then work my way north back to my home and on the way going.....

Bestbuy>Circuit City>Calling EB and Gamestop while running into ToysRus, then hopefully I'll get a Wii in my hand with 3 games which will include LOZ:TP, Madden and Trauma Center.

And I found it funny that Bestbuy didn't have any PS3s but Target had like 4 when I went in there.

I have been looking for a Wii since it was released. I've had my share of close calls and missed opportunities. Last Friday I made my usual rounds at 8:00 a.m. and low and behold Target had 12 Wii just stacked sitting in the electronics department. Of course I got one. I called a friend of mine to give her the tip and she missed them by 2 minutes.

Here's where it gets interesting. I'm in the same store at about 2:00 that same day and of course no Wiis to be seen. We're in there about 20 minutes and as we leave, I take another glance at the display cabinet and there is one Wii sitting in there. My wife snaps that one up to give to our friend that missed it that morning. I guess it just goes to show timeing is everything!!

I got a wii on the 28th. It was so weird I walked into Future Shop and I was like do u have any Wiis? and theyre like yeah we just got 15 in 5 mins ago. So I was like GRAB ME ONE and then someone heard us and then all of a sudden there was 20 people around me fighting for the other 15 wiis and had to get in a lineup. Wow I also snagged an extra 3 WiiMotes off the shelf before people could grab them because there was only 5 there. I thought another game would be good to so I bought Zelda too. Good Day.

We finally got our Wii this weekend We've been looking for a few weeks, and had a few half hearted attempts at going into stores at 7am to see if they have any, along with staying up until the end of Saturday Night Live to check the Bestbuy/Target ads for the week. WalMart did manage to really annoy me, we were there one Saturday afternoon, and the sales guy says that they have like 50 Wii's in stock but then he tells me that they're not selling them until the 6th December and that I can come back at 5am on that day, some kind of 2nd release per their corporate office. Considering the console had already been released and was being sold elsewhere, I was not a happy bunny at being told that! In the end it was all rather easy, my husband has a friend who collects Hot Wheels, and he called us on Friday morning at 7am to say he was in Fred Meyers and had a Wii in his hands - he picked it up for us. Who knew that Hot Wheels collection could come in so useful?
