Official 'I got a Wii' Thread

I got my Wii the day after Christmas. I came to GameStop at just the right time because they just got a a shipment it. So my parents got it for me as a Christmas present because I didn't get anything on Christmas day.

Got my Wii on thursday.
Walked into an EB Games store to buy an Xbox 360 Game. Seen a kid with Wii, asked if they had more, they had just come in.

Walked out with a Wii & 3 games. LOL
Now i finaly found another Wii Mote, can't find any nunchucks thoe. hehe

Nunchucks are the hardest thing to find. Well except for maybe the Wii itself. I was able to score an extra remote the same day I go the Wii, but I still haven't been able to get ahold of another Nunchuck. Good look on finding one, and welcome to the Wii owners club lol.

After seeing the short demand for PS3's, I told myself I wasn't going to shortfall myself from a Wii, so I stood in line for 10 hours and got the 9th system of 21. I've been enjoying it since... oh, life is grand!

I actualy ordered a Nunchuck from Nintendo.com.
They ship to canada, wich i was impressed with. so if i don't find one in stores this week, ill have one next week for 3$ more then what i would pay with FULL tax here after the shipping charges from Nintendo.

I got mine Dec 17, on a Sunday.

The Friday before that Sunday, my friend mentioned he was gonna wait for a Wii at Gamestop. I was like, "wow, lucky guy."

Then I told my mom about it, and she was like, "You wanna wait too?"

So I was like, "YEAH."

So we all planned to go to Gamestop at 4 AM, because my friend was a friend of the manager, and he told him that 4 AM would be good.


So, that Sunday, my friend calls me at 2:50 AM, and he's like, "Duude. You better get here. There are 7 people waiting, and only 9 Wiis."

So I tell my mom, and after a tussel, she's like, "It's two spots.. You wanna try?" Because first, she said it'd be useless. But I moped around~

So, we get in the car, and my mom FLIES through the road, going 20 MPH over the speed limit, THROUGH THICK FOG.

We get there, and shazam, I get in line behind my friend. He had a cousin there that was going to buy a PS3 to resell, but my friend called his dad, and his dad said that PS3s weren't doing too good. So he decided to get a Wii to resell. That put me at number 9 out of 9.

Well, after waiting for like, 6 or 7 hours, there were two kid brothers.
Their dad pulls up, and waits with them for the last 2 hours.

Well, my friend's cousin sells his spot in line for 140 bucks.
And there's a guy waiting in the parking lot, willing to pay 400 bucks for a wii.

That dad guesses he can make some money, SO...
He decides to get a Wii for each of the two kid brothers.

That put me at number 10 out of 9.

Well, the cousin that sold his spot was feeling really bad for me, because he sold his spot in line. He goes and tells the cop that was waiting 1st in line (since 12 AM. And he got us free donoughts!) and the cop told the guy that came into gamestop at 9 AM.

Well, at 10 AM, guy opens the door, and says, "I have 9 Wiis, 6 PS3s... One per household."

So, needless to say, I got the 9th one. Plus a copy of zelda, and a wiimote nunchuck combo.

Though the wiimote I gotwas messed up because I hit it on something during boxing... Parents tried to bring it back yesterday, but all wiimotes were GONE. EVERWHERE. So I got a gift card.
Seems all the kids got their wiis for Christmas, and needed controllers.

I've clocked in about 24-25 hours on Zelda....
SO GOOD.

I have my Wii for about four days now and I'm as happy as a pig in the mud

Had to wait approx. three minutes for it while the guy from the shop fetched it..
And now my arm's hurting from too much Tennis

I got to be the best mom ever and had the wii under the tree.
I heard many stories that pissed me off. Stores that said they weren't taking lists actually taking lists, I know at least one person who got two that way. Shitty because then they were able to jack the prices on ebay and make less for the people who couldn't spend that much.
Ah well, I am just glad, it's funny though, this started out to be for my son but it has morphed into being mine mine MINE! lol

That's weird about the nunchucks. In my city, south Louisiana, we have shortages of the remotes not the nunchucks. I was able to get extra remotes just because I happened to be at Best Buy one night when a worker was unpacking XBox 360 stuff and I happened to ask. The nunchucks are like everywhere though. We always see nunchucks but no remotes.

Man going 90 miles an hour down a 35 mile an hour road really isn't the best idea but I got the Wii without issues, last one on the shelf and last one of 2006 !!!

I got mines the same day it came out w/o making any lines, it payed off to wait in the pre order line

I called about 10 stores last night... none of them had any.
My dad offered to go to Target on Thursday morning - hopefully they'll have some by then. After all, I was supposed to get my Wii for Christmas -__-
