Can you? Yes

Will it take you a very very long time to download anything? Yes

Will it time out every time you try to connect to anything? Probably

If you don't have it yet, you should soon. My parents live in a pretty rural area and they have 5mb broadband now.

If you can afford dial-up then you can afford broadband.

Rogers (In Canada) offers coast to cost wireless high speed internet at a great price ($49.00/month) it might work outside the country as well. It's essentially a box you plug into the outlet, and you have wireless anywhere.

Satellite internet works anywhere that you have a clear view of the sky.

but you have to be in an area where they have support, so they can set you up with everything etc.

Just because it's satellite doesn't mean you can get it anywhere.

If you pay the installer enough, then he will come.
